In other words, he interpreted the rule as allowing him to schedule the minority witness hearing after the articles of impeachment had already passed.

You are partly correct. They also think they can force McConnell to subpoena Bolton et.al. because they would not take the chance that the courts would not rule in their favor. This part of the game was planned out a long time ago with Schumer and Pelosy.
If McConnell is smart, (I think that PDJT’s team will force it), he will allow PDJT to subpoena his witnesses but will tell the House managers that they had their chance to subpoena Bolton et. al. in the House during their hearings, (and fight it out in the courts), but did not take the opportunity so they will have to present the case they came to the Senate with.
The “Grand Jury” phase is over and it is now time to present your case to the jury. No untested testimony at the last minute will be allowed.If the case is weak, (as it is), then you lose. Tough luck.

His “district” is one of the worse I’ve seen, actually a lot of NYC districts look that way. For a city built on a grid system it should be easy to have a bunch of relativity square looking districts, but that doesn’t help people like Nadless and other easily keep their power.

I really don’t know why the Republican members of the committee participated in Nadler’s Kangaroo Committee. Seems to me they could have staged a walkout in front of the cameras and gotten more mileage.
