Comey: ‘I Was Wrong’ — FBI’s FISA Abuse ‘Was Not Acceptable’
Breitbart ^ | 15 Dec 2019 | Pam Key

Posted on 12/15/2019 9:36:17 AM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

On this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” former FBI Director James Comey said that the Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on the launch of the FBI’s Russia probe’s use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was unacceptable.

Comey said, “He’s right. I was wrong. I was overconfident as director in our procedures of the FBI and Justice have built over 20 years years. I thought they were robust enough. It’s incredibly hard to get a FISA. I was overconfident in those because he’s right, there was real sloppiness — 17 things that should have been in the application or at least discussed and characterized differently. It was not acceptable, so he’s right. I was wrong.”

He added, “Sure, I’m responsible, I was overconfident as director in our procedures, and it’s important that a leader be accountable and transparent. If I were so director, I’d be saying exactly the same thing that Chris Wray is saying, that we are going to get to the bottom of this because the most important question is, is it systemic? Are the problems in other cases?”

I think the rest will see this and know he is getting ready to throw them under the bus. He was misled but others were operating outside the law.

He’s gone from saying it was “vindication” to admitting wrongdoing...now just trying to use the same argument about “intent” as he gave Hillary.

When there’s 17 “mistakes” that all went against the POTUS then it becomes pretty easy to expose the intent.

This guy knows he’s an inch from an indictment.

"No reasonable prosecutor would decline such a case."

If Hillary had won, does anybody actually think that she wouldn’t have made sure Donald Trump was destroyed by pursuing the lies about him that they had all created? She would have had to take him out once and for all, and he wouldn’t have stood a chance against the deep state as a simple citizen. Look what she did to Billy Dale. This f’n evil bitch and her minions need to be put away for good.

Yours is the RIGHT post on this thread. What IS going to happen.

I think I’ve read my 1 millionth, 1 millionth and first, 1 millionth and second, one millionth and third, one million and fourth..ad infinitum..

post on this board about people going to prison

LOCK EM UP!!

FIT EM FOR AN ORANGE JUMP SUIT!!

HANG EM!!

BRING BACK THE FIRING SQUAD!!

Like little kids over and over wishing for something based on NO history.

NO ONE has gone to prison yet.

Maybe someone high up will.

I doubt it.

Trump and Maybe Barr aren’t on the same team as 98 percent of congress and the other powers that be.

Back room deals will be made and “i was wrong” might be heard a lot.

But that’s about it.

Trump will get what he wants on some key issues and THAT’S a good thing.

THAT, IMHO, is the most that will happen.

FR POSTED-----AAG Matthew Whitaker Discusses Upcoming IG Report on FISA Abuse and Trump Campaign Surveillance… full title ...

Following leaked revelations that former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith manipulated evidence to attain a Title-1 surveillance warrant against U.S. person Carter Page to conduct political espionage against the Trump campaign, former AAG Matthew Whitaker discusses the IG investigation and upcoming IG report.

Whitaker notes the bigger issues are how the FISA process generally has been abused and potentially long-term ramifications.

It is also worth remembering it wasn’t just “wiretaps” that were gained, the FBI requested and received full Title-1 surveillance authority including:
<><>wiretaps,
<><> electronic surveillance,
<><> the use of bugs and tracking devices,
<><> physical surveillance,
<><> electronic surveillance
<><> satellite geo-location surveillance
<><> and much more.

The FBI requested a type of surveillance generally reserved for tracking suspected terrorists.

When Mr. Clinesmith manipulated evidence to attain the warrant, he was working under the guidance of FBI supervisory agent Peter Strzok. ---snip----rest on FR

A Sept 2018 report noted that AG Rosenstein secretly recorded Pres Trump in the White House preparatory to invoking the 25th Amendment to have Pres Trump removed. Judicial Watch’s immediate follow-up FOIA requests were ignored. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton: “It is no surprise that we are facing an immense cover-up of senior FBI and DOJ leadership discussions to pursue a seditious coup against Pres Trump. This effort to overthrow Pres Trump is a fundamental threat to our constitutional republic; Judicial Watch will do everything it can in the courts to expose everything possible about this lawlessness.”

Two important products of Congressional investigations:
<><>the 18 Jan 2017 memo declassified by Pres Trump,
<><> the 28 Dec 2018 letter to Sen Mitch McConnell,

The key facts revealed:
<><> (1) the Obama FBI used, as factual basis for FISA apps, bogus info from the Steele dossier, a compilation of anti-Trump info that the FBI had not verified.
<><> (2) Obama's corrupt FBI nevertheless swore to the truth of that info to obtain surveillance warrants on Carter Page, Trump's one-time campaign advisor; <><> (3) in the process of obtaining the search warrants the Obama FBI failed to inform FISA that the Steele dossier was bought and paid for by the DNC and Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

============================================

Obama, hand-in-hand with his pal, NSA's Susan Rice.... outrageously asked for and obtained hundreds of “unmaskings,” of US citizens’. Their communications were intercepted by the Obama FBI and NSA as part of so-called intel operations. Innocent Americans were unmasked, and were used against Trump in the campaign.
<><> Why did the unmaskings even occur, and what information was illegally shared by Rice with Obama and/or Hillary?
<><>What illegal direction did the FBI, the NSA, and other intel agencies take to monitor Trump-related communications?

Predictably, Democraps have stopped the investigations cold. The most heinous aspect of this Democrap outrage is that the Obama admin and his factotums ----like Third World tinpot warlords----calculatedly picked over the intel apparat, set-up to protect the safety and security of Americans, to advance their scurrilous political schemes.

Partners in crime.......the two we should be investigating.

NOTE---More emphasis needs to be placed on the “2 hops” rule for FISA warrants.
The FISA wasn’t just to spy on Carter Page, but with “2 hops” the Obamanoids could spy on virtually the entire Trump campaign staff.

REFERENCE----REDDIT.COM Under FISA law, when the government obtains a warrant on an individual, they are also allowed to spy on anyone that person contacts, as well as anyone the contacted person contacts, as well as anyone that person contacted, going back FIVE YEARS!

In other words, the Obama administration got a warrant on Carter Page, but since Page would have been in contact with at least 1 member of the Trump campaign, and that member or one of their contacts probably was in contact with virtually anyone even remotely connected to the campaign, the FISA warrant made it "legal" for Obama and his cronies to spy on anyone even remotely connected to Trump or the campaign and look at ANY of their communications over the last FIVE YEARS!

This should be a major focus of these stories, as right now one of the main talking points from the deep state is that this was "only" looking at Page!

CIRCA December 2018--Comey Denies Knowing Clinton Law Firm Helped with ‘Pee’ Dossier:
‘I Don’t Remember the Name Perkins Coie at All’…

Breitbart | 10 Dec 2018 | Aaron Klein / FR Posted by E. Pluribus Unum

In what could become a possible issue for James Comey, the former FBI director repeatedly stated in testimony to the House Judiciary Committee that he “never” knew the author of the infamous anti-Trump dossier had been retained to do his work by a U.S.-based law firm. The law firm in question, Perkins Coie, reportedly funded the controversial Fusion GPS to conduct the anti-Trump work on behalf of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Those efforts resulted in the largely-discredited dossier written by former British spy Christopher Steele.

Despite saying he "did not know" Steele had been hired by Perkins Coie, the FISA warrant to spy on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page (signed three times by Comey) stated the FBI had information that Steele had been hired by a “US-based law firm.”

It specifically stated the FBI “was approached by an identified U.S. person who indicated to Source #1 [Steele] that a U.S.-based law firm had hired the identified U.S. person to conduct research regarding Candidate #1’s ties to Russia.”

Comey made his remarks during testimony on Friday, Dec 2018.
Here is a transcript of the relevant portions of Comey’s latest testimony as it relates to Perkins Coie (linked):

AG Barr has been given a flying start as he investigates possible spying by the Democrats on the 2016 Trump campaignThe Democratic Party is bracing itself as written evidence has now been discovered supporting allegations that the FBI deliberately misled the FISA Court to obtain a warrant in October 2016 to spy on a former member of the Trump campaign committee - Carter Page.

Open-records litigation by the conservative group Citizens United and superb investigative journalism by The Hill’s John Solomon have unearthed three critical State Department documents: rest at FR link

IG Has 'Concluded that the Final Three FISA Extensions Were Illegally Obtained,' diGenova Says
PJ Media ^ | May 10, 2019 | Debra Heine
FR Posted on 5/11/2019, 10:22:39 AM by billorites

Washington attorney Joe diGenova claimed in an interview that the Department of Justice inspector general has determined that "the final three FISA extensions were illegally obtained," and the first one is still being investigated. For the past year, DOJ IG Michael Horowitz has been investigating the FBI's 2016 surveillance activities and his report is expected later this month or in early June. Washington power couple Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing appeared on Lou Dobbs' Fox Business Network show Thursday night to talk about the latest turns in the "SpyGate" saga. "The only question now is whether or not the first FISA was illegally obtained," diGenova said.

================================

ANALYSIS---It’s beginning to sink in to the culprits (smirk)....... They left a huge paper/electronic trail of their nefarious activities. Some of us were paying close attention. Keep in mind, they were all living the heady days of Hillary being the “sure thing” who would sweep it all under the Oval Office rug.
