Sources: Pensacola Attacker Had 10 Minutes Without Armed Resistance

Two Navy instructor pilots told Fox News the December 6, 2019, Pensacola attacker had 10 minutes without armed resistance in which to carry out his horrific work.

Fox News reports those pilots are among a group of instructors who are asking military brass to allow them to carry guns for self-defense.

One instructor pilot said, “It’s so stupid that on a military base, the shooter was allowed to roam free for so long. In a gun fight, that’s an eternity.”

Breitbart News reported that decision to allow military personnel to be armed for self-defense falls to the installation commanders, per Amendment S. 1536, which was part of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2016. That amendment shifted power to authorize defensive carry from the Secretary of Defense to the various installation commanders.

On December 6–the day of the Pensacola attack–Breitbart News reported Naval Air Station Pensacola is a gun-free zone.

The firearms policy for the station, as issued by Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic, says:

While federal and state laws differ widely on the subject, regulations pertaining to the registration, transportation, and storage of firearms on Naval Installations in the Mid-Atlantic area of responsibility are clear. According to the instruction, all hands share responsibility for adhering to regulations pertaining to the registration, transportation, and storage of firearms in the AOR.

> POTUS should call top brass on the carpet to explain why soldiers aren’t armed. <

Trump doesn’t need to ask anyone anything. He can - and should - issue an immediate order arming base personnel. At a bare minimum, allow folks with, say, 10 or more years of service to be armed. Those people have proven themselves to be dependable and reliable.

President Trump, just do it. Don’t wait another day.

Brass should be dismissed and booted out of the service with dishonorable conduct discharge for endangering the lives of their troops.

SOBs should never be allowed to command anyone again. MEGA FAIL!

F*ckin’ unbelievable. I would never fight or die for the people who ran the base.

They sure don’t have my back. Why should I be responsible to them?

Talking heads are yappy yappy how he could get a weapon on base. Well, duh, have they even been on a base? The front gates (the ones I know of) are only manned half the time and when they are they barely glance at incoming vehicles. The dozens of other roads in are wide open for any Tom, Dick or Mohammad to wander through with anything. The gun free zones are nothing more than based on the honor system and the fear of what happens if you’re caught.

How long has it been since you've been on a major military installation? When we go through we have run a gauntlet and then have our ID checked.

Do students have base stickers on their cars? Curious.

No one checked the Saudis to make sure they weren’t carrying prohibited firearms on the base? Surreal.

The base commanders have the ability to authorize the military personnel to arm themselves.

Why was he here in the first place? What did America gain by his presence? Guns on base is a huge distraction. Nobody wants these people here, yet, for some reason, it is impossible to keep them out. The political system does not serve the people. Again, guns on base is a distraction, even if it is a real issue. Why are these people here? Why is that not the question being asked?

Why not military police since shooting was on a military base?

Why was he here in the first place?

Because we sell aircraft to the Saudis. The politicians and arms dealers have to make their commission.

Another gift from the Chicago Crook's Perfumed Princes. Every O-5 and above who made grade since 2008 must be discharged, with malice and no pension. They've all forgotten that the oath they took was to the Constitution, not the President.

Am curious, did you hear of Kerry’s treason while serving in Vietnam? Was wondering if his show was just for the folks at home.

Thank you for your service.

Hard to tell what is the subject in the second photo.

I can almost see Leo Gorcy, Huntz Hall and the gang in the first photo.

The Ensign killed, Joshua Kaleb Watson, was the officer of the deck. It boggles my mind that the OOD and the petty officer of the watch are not armed when not at sea.

"The base had to call the local sheriff to come in and take control,,, ABSURD"

Did the base commander suspend the "Gun Free Zone" to allow the Sheriff's Dept to enter the base with their guns?

No Military Police?...I may be wrong but I never heard of the Navy armed. They had AFP in Oolongopo or probably other places but I didn’t see any police ON the base. Marines, yes. But I didn’t see ANY armed Navy personnel. I remember having to check my weapons at the front gate to get OUT of the base, but never anybody checked for weapons to get on.
