Gov. Ralph Northam (D) announced Monday his assault weapons ban will mean AR-15 owners can either register their guns with the government or hand them over.
The Virginia Mercury reported Northam spokeswoman Alena Yarmosky used a statement to say, The governors assault weapons ban will include a grandfather clause for individuals who already own assault weapons, with the requirement they register their weapons before the end of a designated grace period.
Yarmosky made clear details on other gun controls will be made known before the start of the 2020 session in which Democrats take charge.

....some time ago here on FR, a bloke from Australia commented to NEVER NEVER register your weapons....! he pointed out (rightly) that if the gubbermint knows who has what weapons, it is really just an easy step toward confiscation when (not if....) the time comes...! I lived in Virginia for almost a half-century and were living there now, I would NEVER register my (newly-purchased...) AR-15. As we love to say down here in The Lone Star State, MOLON LABE....
Thats what I meant by civil disobedience, probably should have said non-compliance.
Welcome to California.
You’re not allowed to remove them from the state? As I told my father, who lives in one of the free states, if anyone from California calls asking if he has one of my guns, just say, “Yes.”
Register my AR-15?
Which one?
Muzzle first to the guv.
Ping.
KMA Governor Blackface.
Besides it fell out of my boat, uh my yacht, No a canoe. Yeah that’s the ticket. A canoe! My AR15 was lost in a boating accident in my canoe.
.... somewhere, not sure where or even when, but fairly recently, I saw a picture of a fellow with a “I WILL NOT COMPLY” tee shirt...more than likely in a state that wanted to pass similar gun laws to Virdginia’s....
In CA, the “assault weapon” registration required a fixed configuration. The registration required submission of pictures showing the assembled upper and lower, barrel and receiver stamps, etc. As far as compliance, it has been an utter failure, with few people willing to place their weapons on a confiscation list. As far as I know, pretty much every state that has passed registration has seen very few actual registrations.
Gov. Ralph Northam (Dummy) wants to be a leftist martyr and I will not shed one single tear if someone obliges his desires.
Hey Ralphie, are you trying to send Virginians a subliminal message?
My Ars went down with my row boat in a tidal wave. Dog gone it. Really pisses me off I built a few of them. :(
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
A question for the gun grabbers; How many casualties are they willing to accept to confiscate our guns? How many gun grabbers will be willing to go door to door?
Tyranny of government! The mask has come off!
So are these merely edicts from the racist and bigoted Northam...or has the Virginia legislature actually passed this law?
We are going to kill your babies, and oh, by the way, give us your guns...now!
Hey Gov, shove it up you ass! Then rad a copy of the U.S. Constitution!
