(CNN)For the first time, Muhammad is one of the top 10 most popular baby names for boys in the United States, according to data from the parenting website BabyCenter.
Muhammad ranks at No. 10, up four spots from last year. The name has been climbing steadily on BabyCenter's rankings over the years and first entered the top 100 in 2013.
"Muslim families often choose Muhammad for firstborn sons to honor the prophet and bring blessings to the child," Linda Murray, BabyCenter's global editor in chief, said in a news release. "The name also has multiple spellings, and that helps a name get into the top 10."

The key phase and fact is that most Muslim families name their first born son Muhammad.
If every Christian family named their first son Jesus, it would be far be the most popular name.
Why are so many prize fighters named Muhammad?
Its Arabic for Rocky.
What better gift can a parent give a child: a lifetime of having to explain how her last name is pronounced.
Grayson
That is more a name for a "youthful ward" than for one's own flesh-and-blood child.
Riley
For a dog, yes. For a human girl?
Christian is a nice name
I agree this is Barbra Streisand. Best estimates are that muzzies in America are less than one percent of the population.
That’s one percent too many, but how does that one percent skew the name statistics to make Mohammed the top name here as it is now in UK? Muzzies are 4.4 percent of the UK population......and I just realized that since muzzies breed like rats they may soon be America’s population bomb at critical mass.
Nor do I...I have yet to meet or hear of anyone with a child with that name...I call BS or fake news...now, maybe in some isolated places that may be the case, but across the country? Nope.
Just wait until Islam figures out how to market itself to straight, white Western men who have grown tired of being emasculated in a feminized culture that takes them for granted.
There's going to be hell to pay to liberalism.
I know 2 women who have daughters named Riley.
In England it is a top first name. Big difference.
Naming their children after a savage pedophile. Shame.
Caucasians are too busy paying for other people to have kids.
One way to look at it, I guess. I’m not eager for the inevitable bloodshed.
My people are still screwing. Good solid contributors to society. But even their average family sizes are diminishing.
Here's some info on that.

Interesting. Based on yesterdays attack in FL, Id say were the targets not the other way around.
When it comes from the Social Security Office I will put more credence into it.
But, there are a whole bunch of people who rip baby names from the headlines.
I recall visiting my parents in rural vermont. There was a couple in the grocery store we ran into while we were pushing our infant in a carriage. They too had a baby. Of cours, you exchange pleasantries. We asked their little girl’s name. It was an unusual name. My wife mentioned that there was a character in her favorite soap opera with that name.
The woman told us that is where she got the name from.
I smiled and said “that’s nice.”
And thought...we are finished as a culture if that the thought process we go through naming our children.
According to the Social Security Administration, Muhammad is the 345th most popular name in 2018.
