A blind prisoner convicted of killing his estranged girlfriend by setting her on fire in her car was put to death Thursday in Tennessee's electric chair. Lee Hall, 53, became only the second inmate without sight to be executed in the U.S. since the reinstatement of the nation's death penalty in 1976.
Hall was pronounced dead at 7:26 p.m. at a Nashville maximum-security prison, prison officials said. He chose the electric chair over Tennessee's preferred execution method of lethal injection an option available to inmates in the state who were convicted of crimes before January 1999. He also became the first blind inmate in U.S. modern history to die by electrocution.
A witness to the execution said that Hall's final words were that "people need to learn forgiveness and love and make the world a better place..."
...Court documents state that Hall killed 22-year-old Traci Crozier on April 17, 1991 by setting her car ablaze with a container of gasoline that he lit and tossed in her vehicle while she was inside and trying to leave him. The container exploded and Crozier suffered burns across more than 90% of her body, dying the next day in the hospital.
Crozier's sister, Staci Wooten, and her father, Gene Crozier, had said earlier they planned to watch Hall's execution.

This is an outrage! How dare the State of Tennessee do this?! How dare they permit this evil murderer to live so long? This man should have been executed immediately after proven guilty. Period. The State of Tennessee, especially the judges and officials who created this travesty are accomplices in the murder of Tracy Crozier. And they will face the wrath of G-d for what they have done. You see, murder is like a coin; it has two sides: Side 1 - the victim is dead, Side 2 the murderer is not, and lives on to gloat about it. This is an obscene injustice and that is why the Torah commands that a proven murderer must be put to death! May Tracys family know that they are in our prayers. We bless them and honor her memory.
Seems obvious he could see what he was doing to throw gasoline into her car and strike a match.
Lee Hall became #1511 to be executed in the USA since 1976.

And they did it on a Thursday?
Could’a waited one more day to do it on a “FRY” day.
The crime happened 28 years ago (2019-1991). This guy has been in prison for all that time, getting 3 hots and a cot every day of those 28 years.
It would be interesting if someone could calculate the approximate cost to taxpayers for that care. Bet it’s in the hundreds of thousands, prolly more.
RIP Lee.
Dont forget his medical care, dental care!!!
He wouldn’t have gone blind if they had executed him sooner.
Ah, a clip from the end of The Thing.” In real life, Florida had to adopt lethal injection when a minor change in material resulted in a botched execution that was less than instantaneous, with flames and smoke shooting from under the metal cap that served as an electrode on the head of the prisoner.
Pretty lady. RIP.
Good the perp is gone and can’t hurt anybody else.
Old Chesnut
Dude was being marched out of his cell to make his appointment with ‘Old Sparky’ and his fellow death row inmates were bidding him farewell....
The usual, bye, take care etc were offset by one con who yelled out...
More power to Ya Dude!!!
Was he blinded by the flash fire that killed her?
A excellent lawyer...his client still got
the chair but he got the voltage reduced.
He got to kill a watt or 2.
He had some guts in choosing electrocution. But his victim suffered far more.
