Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, heavily criticized the ongoing the impeachment inquiry during his opening remarks on Wednesday.
Collins noted how there were no fact witnesses present for the first day of the Judiciary Committee hearing and how Chairman Jerry Nadler and other Democrats have a history of bias against President Trump. Instead, the four people testifying on Wednesday are law professors.
"America will see why most people don’t go to law school. No offense to our professors. But please, really? We’re bringing you in here today to testify on stuff most of you’ve written about, all four. With the opinions we already know out of the classrooms that maybe you are getting ready for finals in, to discuss things that you probably haven’t had a chance — unless you are good on TV or watching the hearings the last couple of weeks you couldn’t possibly have digested the Adam Schiff report from yesterday or the Republican response in any real way," Collins stated.
"The American people is really going to look at this and say huh? What are we doing? There is no fact witnesses planned for this committee. That’s an interesting thing," he continued. "Frankly, no plan at all except next week a hearing on the presentation from the other committee that sent us the report and Judiciary Committee, which I’m not sure what they want us to present on. And nothing else. No plan."
"Why did everything that I say up to this point about no fact witnesses — nothing — for the Judiciary Committee, which spent two and half weeks before this hearing was held under Clinton. Two and half weeks we didn’t find your names out until less than 48 hours ago. I don’t know what we’re playing hide the ball on," Collins added.
These folks are nothing but some people that can share their professional opinions. It’s kinda like “expert witnesses” in a trial.
Collins is a sharp burr in Nadler’s saddle.
Didn’t he also blast them for intentionally scheduling the first hearing on a date when they new Trump would be out of the country.
What happens if the Republicans on the Judiciary committee don’t show up to have the academics lecture them?
Hope these hearings turn Nadler into Nadless.

Agreed, Collins doesn’t hold back and when he’s ripping Nadler and the process nonads tries to look calm but you can tell he’s doing a slow burn.

These phony hearings serve only to give Trump a bad name and to divert attention to all the dastardly things Democrats did prior to the election. Hillary, Obama, Comey, Clapper, Brennan, et al are as low as a snake and there’s a need for Democrats to protect them. Not to mention Slick Willie’s sexual escapades at Epstein’s ranch. Gotta cover up all that stuff. Put the focus on Trump and maybe, just maybe, Americans will forget the Democrat evils. With the help of the media, that’s possible.
Exactly—what Biden meant—”truth” is the narrative.
“Facts” are those messy things that often contradict the narrative.
all four witnesses are democrats and democrat donors. Three are there trying to get Trump impeached and one seems not to be for the impeachment with the evidence presented in the previous investigation. The democrats have not asked a single question to the one witness who is not for impeachment. This is a kangaroo court. A railroading of the office of the president and the voice of We The People. It is a political grab of power which started on the day of the inauguration. The coup begins. We gonna impeach the M Fer. If we don’t impeach him he will he will be reelected.

My having been on multiple juries is probably one reason I’m enjoying this.
They are forced to allow the R’s to ask questions, so be prepared for the tide to turn. And the extra fun fact is that even that is really not all that important. It will only hurt the D’s if they impeach him, so I’m hoping they impeach. Eventually this gets to a point where fairness WILL be applied. Then it gets REAL ugly for democrats.
Nadler doesn't know if he has nads at all since he hasn't been able to see down there for sixty years.
Nadler was constantly flustered and looking for help.
When your as stupid as Nadless you constantly need help.
Their purpose is to provide a legal rationale for connecting existing facts to laws for which impeachment may apply. This is the “indict the ham sandwich” reasoning stage.
