A key witness in special counsel Robert S. Mueller IIIs investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election has been indicted with seven others on charges of conspiring to funnel more than $3 million in illegal foreign campaign contributions for that years elections, the Justice Department announced. George Nader, an adviser to the United Arab Emirates who acted as an intermediary for members of Donald Trumps presidential campaign seeking to forge contacts in the Middle East, was charged with conspiring to make conduit campaign contributions and related offenses in a 53-count indictment unsealed Tuesday in Washington, prosecutors said.

The other child perv?
But federal donor records show that Khawaja is a major political contributor, who, since 2016, personally gave $3 million to Democratic candidates and groups - including $1 million to Priorities USA, the main super PAC supporting Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign - and $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund.
so, when their candidate - Clinton - lost, they gave some money to the winner?
Is the Inaugural Committee subject to campaign finance laws like a Political Campaign?
Sounds like it
Have to remember, Trump wasn’t raking in the money from the big guys, they were all in on Hillary.
“””Is the Inaugural Committee subject to campaign finance laws like a Political Campaign?”””””””””””
Only when a Republican wins.
Yup....how obvious is THAT!
Sounds like another stinkin’ peach on Tree 45. *sigh*
“so, when their candidate - Clinton - lost, they gave some money to the winner?”
exactly ...

Money funnel
The indictment quotes an alleged encrypted message that Nader sent an official from Foreign Country A via WhatsApp after Khawaja contributed $275,000 and invited Nader to attend and April 16, 2016, event for presidential Candidate 1. "Wonderful meeting with the Big Lady... Can't wait to tell you about it," Nader allegedly wrote, in an apparent reference to Clinton.
If you pay both sides, when you need a favor from a politician, you can always get in the door, no matter who wins.
Whose sole interest in Nader was apparently post election US diplomatic relations with Lebanon rather than say, Clinton, who had personal interests in stroking him for campaign cash.
If Nader did NOT donate to the Trump inaugural fund until after he won (i.e. Nov. 3, 2016), then I don’t see any real charge against him for this action.
If he offered money to an as-yet established organization before the presidential win, then there could be problems for him.
The way this reads these guys’ campaign cash went to Hillary, Democrat groups such as Priorities USA, and maybe some unnamed Republican group or groups which may or may not have been pro Trump.
The mention of Trump is in donations after the election for the inauguration and his inaugural committee has been cooperating in the investigation.
Wash Po deeply saddened.
