I've officially had it with dogs at the mall

When did it become acceptable for everyone to bring their Stew Pet dogs to the mall?

I just wanted some vegetables and chicken for dinner so I stopped at our mega mall here in San Jose and grabbed my chow at Sarko.

Yum

So, I am sitting there taking my first sip of my Diet Coke and I start to hear the whining of a little dog.

Concerned, I look around and don't see it.

Then this lady walks past me and she has two dinky dogs on a leash. I probably know the breed but, whatever.

The dinky dork dogs start whining and it occurs to me, as some dog from across the food court joined in, that someone is going to hurt if this Stew pet woman doesn't reign in her animals, making the leash a little shorter.

Several people got caught up in the leashes, as there were unaware the dinky dork stewpets had wondered 10 feet away.

Some one could have tripped and got injured and the animals themselves could have been injured as well.

So, I try to ignore this ignoramus of a woman, who must feel she is entitled to force her emptiness on the rest of us through the use of the animals.

Well, not to be out done, a few moments later I feel something hitting my calf and I quickly reach down to swat it away and found another Stew Pet Dinky Dork Dog who just had to get under my legs and the table.

I start to look around for the owner. He came by 30 seconds later and simply apologized an laughingly took the dog to some other place, so it could bother another innocent person.

Nope, a few minutes later I felt something nudging my calf again.

Looking down I again saw that little brat of a Dinky Dork Dog and again his Stew Pet owner gathered him up and apologized.

I almost verbally laid into to him but, wasn't in the mood.

Back to my meal, oh no wait.

Just a few minutes later I hear a rather large bark, seemingly from a full size dog.

I look in the direction of the bark and yep, it was a German Shepard, who was not on leash and began wondering through the crowd of people nearby.

I saw two women nearly trip avoiding this stewpet dog and they were very startled.

That dog was collected by its stewpet owner who apologized.

But, just so everyone could have a good time the 1st idiot stewpet dorky dinky dog owner thought it would a great idea if his non-sentient canine met a much larger non-sentient canine

I dunno maybe he thought they were family and wanted to reunite them.

The lil bass tards laid into each other in some sort of verbal spat I guess.

I don't speak so, I am only going by the growling and fierceness of the barking they were really not happy seeing each other and did not wish to be acquainted.

Anyway, I don't care if you bring your dog to a mall. Actually, that is a lie. I do care but, I will tolerate your lil beastard if he is well behaved, socialized and on a short leash.

Every pet owner needs to put the protection of their pets from unnecessary risks and danger first, above their own wishes of what they want to do and where they want to go with their pets.

Most do not, and if something bad happens never want to accept the blame and responsibility for sh1t going bad. They will blame everyone else.

The dogs have more sense than most people. I still don’t like this person who posted it. Seems like a stew person.

Yeah.

You must be an old local.

Only oldsters like us call it Valley Fair anymore.

It’s like saying Marriott’s Great America. Well, that is what it was when I took my Mom there on opening day 1976 with my paper route money.

There really were dogs completely off leash.

That lil Bass Tard who ran into me is lucky I was looking otherwise I might have smacked it a good distance...

And the Shepherd could have easily and accidentally bit someone in his excited state...

valley fair received praise or blame as the reason why bart was not initially approved in santa clara county, if folks’ memory goes back that far...

I don’t know why they don’t put in the pedestrian bridge.

It would be so much easier to walk between both malls and not have to get in the car and drive 100 yards, then look for another parking spot...

I might stomp a dog that tries to get cozy with me. I’m 6ft 275lb. The dog would not survive.

6' at nearly 300 pounds? You're fat! Btw, you best watch which dogs you think you can "stomp" to death. Mess with the wrong dog and you could be in a world of hurt, regardless of how big or fat you are.

Ditto. If you want to get angry at one person who does something bad, like let their dog run wild at the mall, great. But saying nobody should be allowed to do something they could do responsibly is like saying nobody should be allowed to carry a gun because a few criminals used it wrongly. Or nobody should be allowed to own a corvette because some guy had an accident speeding.

We need to not fall into the trap of calling for limiting freedom based on the fact a few people abuse it, and therefore someone *could* abuse it, so we are just going to outlaw everything for everybody. It is a poisonous attitude that splits the country along all sorts of lines, from dog owners and non-dog owners, to gun owners and non-gun-owners.

Although on this issue, I have to wonder, who doesn’t want to enjoy meeting a new dog? Reach down, give it a pet, and make it’s day a little brighter and enjoy the pleasure yourself. If you have never done it, I recommend you try it.

Unless the dog is hostile, I would love a mall where dogs are bumping up against my calf as I sit around.

Reminds me of a dog I saw in the pet store. Not sure what kind of dog it was, but it was huge, bow-legged, short-haired and had muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger. It swaggered when it walked, and with each step its testicles, which hung halfway to the ground, got tangled in its legs. The look on its face was pure evil.

The owner looked like someone you'd expect to own such a beast.

Like nature intended, I want to see a deer at the mall. Then a pack of dogs tear it apart in pieces.

How many city folk could watch nature in action, a prey animal torn apart by several predator animals.

I think there should be more dogs at malls and restaurants. Huge dog lover here. Just my opinion.

Dog dander. Keep it to yourself, out of the mall, out of the restaurant, out of the shopping cart. It is totally selfish for people to do this. Don't they see the scowls of people disgusted to have a dog where a dog does not belong? Incredible.

I watched a guy bring his dog to a restaurant. The waitress said they could not tell him to take the dog out. A guy at another table said well I can tell him. So nice to watch the guy with the dog get berated. Pure joy.

I'm sure you love your dogs and take good care of them. But they are dirty animals that don't belong near clothing, in restaurants and with their butt in the seat of a shopping cart.

Question for you: After your dog goes to the bathroom, do you wipe its butt clean?

Sounds like you live among a bunch of psychopaths or you’re just blowing smoke...I’d bet it’s the latter.

Mess with the wrong dog and you could be in a world of hurt, regardless of how big or fat you are.

Even small dogs tend to be strong, and exceedingly quick and evasive. Couple that with a mouth full of hard, sharp objects and even a little one can permanently injure you ... even if you are lucky enough to grab it and smash it into the ground.

I’ve never once needed to grab a small dog and, “Smash it into the ground”.

You sound like a overly frightened individual.

Make a bonding with the mall cop. Feed him some hotdogs.
