Ohio detected and thwarted an election-related cyber attack earlier this month, the states elections chief said.
Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose said the relatively unsophisticated hacking attempt on Nov. 5, which was Election Day, originated in Panama but was traced to a Russian-owned company.
LaRose told The Columbus Dispatch Tuesday that the would-be attackers were looking around for vulnerabilities in his offices website.
They are poking around for soft spots, LaRose said.
The ultimate goal of such attacks is disrupting and undermining the credibility of elections, but LaRose said Ohios election results are safe because neither the election machines nor the ballot counters the state uses are connected to the internet.

What a fake headline.
My office computers get “attacks” on regular and consistent basis from all over the world. I wouldn’t be surprised if Russians are involved for some of them.
A BS headline to support a BS narrative.
Dems can tamper with voting machines and board of election computers without needing the internet.

Hell, my HOME emails Spam folder is filled with cyber attack emails on a daily basis. Some get through to my inbox folder but are deleted before opening.
The report claims it's a 'Russian-owned company'. If this is true, they must know the name of the company because it was identified as a 'Russian-owned company.'
What's the problem with naming the company?
What do they know about this 'Russian-owned company'? What goods or services do they produce? How many employees?
The alleged attack was “relatively unsophisticated”. What does that mean or imply? Was the attacked ordered by the 'Russian-owned company' or just some employee?
If this event happened they should be releasing much more detailed information about this attack.
Since this is a small article with few details this is just a means to keep the 'Russia hacked the election' narrative alive.
Wasn’t aware that voting machines were connected to the internet.

Official: Russian-owned company attempted Ohio election hack

Does he mean the tests for PHP and other vulnerabilities? I don't use PHP, nobody in their right mind should use PHP or any third party packages written in PHP. My default page for any PHP attack is a statement that this website does not use PHP. Of course that never stops the "attacks" because they are not attacks.
How do you tell a Russian attack from a CIA attack that leaves Russian footprints?
The claims and details are so vague as to make this 'news report' meaningless.
Why not name the company if you know it's a Russian company? They're guilty, right? Why protect them by not naming them?
These articles are tiresome because they only promote a narrative without ever providing verified evidence and facts (which they don't have).
Apparently people working in Panama are employed or contractors of a Russian owned company.
The report does not say the Russians attempted a hack.
The attack came from Panama and thus was conducted by Panamanians, or non-Pananmanians in Panama.
Electronic voting, absentee voting, centrally-controlled voting, no ID voting, same-day registration, early voting, 3rd-Party vote collection - are ALL invitations to fraud which will destroy the Republic
Was traced by whom?
Not Crowdstrike I hope.
An AP blurb planted to keep the ‘Russia-hacked-our-elections’ narrative alive so Democrats can say, ‘Russia is still trying to hack our elections’.
All the more reason for paper backup.
Wha? Did they call in Crowd Strike to check out his so called attack?
Also at the time of this hack via Panama in November 2019, was an incident in China:
November 2019 : (China : Wuhan : WIV gets a visit - See covid19, pandemic ) Chinese state officials went to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to investigate “an acute safety emergency in November 2019
