PERSEVERANCE
The idea of perseverance is an important component in athletics, the military, studies, and even in religion. Perseverance is the master key, the secret of success when you are in the middle of the struggle. It is that extra, the second air, the capacity to overcome the discouragement. Our society is making a lot of progress. We have technology and facilities that no one in history ever had before. The new generations can grow up today more healthy, and live longer. But we do have an Achilles' heel: the absence of the spirit of perseverance. A young man enthusiastically joined the military yesterday...he wants to resign today. A student goes to college with a lot of promises to herself; three months down the road, she withdraws from those studies. A couple got married today; a year later they file for divorce. The problem, as I see it, is that while we are helping the younger generation grow up, we are overprotecting them and making the journey too easy. We are not teaching them the important sense of perseverance, that attitude of sacrifice and consistency that every successful person has to maintain to reach their goals. The scriptures cover the importance of perseverance. It was Jesus who said, "Because of the increase of our wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved" (Matthew 24:12-13). We receive hope and courage through these words. It may be hard, but to love when others hate, make peace and justice when others cause fights and unhappiness, build when others destroy, is "standing firm". In every task, where we practice consistency and perseverance, we will see the good fruit of our sacrifice. And at the end of the final chapter of the book of our life, we will fully understand what Jesus meant through his words, "But he who stands firm to the end will be saved".

It’s kind of neat seeing his mom’s house. Sometimes this is better than a formal news show. LOL!

He seems to be having fun with it and is happy he can finally stream with his phone. Now to see what he has in mind for this stream overall.

it’s a work in progress, but he wants to be able to get out and do things around his area or even take us on a trip. He hasn’t had a vacation [except home] in 3 years so this will give him a chance to go somewhere and show us, too.
How was your day today? Is it pretty cold there? It’s not too bad here, but cold enough in the mornings that I’m gonna wear pants to church tomorrow instead of a dress or skirt.

Yeah, being able to go different places will be fun for him. Like Scott and Charles. I still check on their channels every few days.
It’s fairly warm here. Been in the low 60s all day and evening. It’s been VERY wet since I woke up and we have a little more to go before it’s outta here. I thought we’d have a chance at one more “light show” round shortly but looks like it’s losing some of its oomph now. Might not be any lighting with it when it gets here. We had a lot earlier so I guess I can’t complain.
We’ll cool off a little when this moves through, then another cold front comes through tomorrow. THEN we get cold.

I still check their channels too. I like the pre-recorded ones best....when Scott isn’t saying anything but “hi” to dozens of people. LOL!
I wish we’d get some more rain. The .3’’ we got the other day just doesn’t cut it. I guess hubby’s going to have to water again. I was hoping to get the water bill down to “manageable”. Ugh. Glad you had a light show. Did you get a video or two?

Dang! I’d hoped you’d gotten more rain than that.
We’re closing in on 2 inches at the moment and there’s one more heavy-ish round moving in now. We needed this badly after being ripped off so often lately.
No lightning videos today. It was raining too hard, and breezy, so I couldn’t go outside and get clear of the trees close to the house.

I hoped to get some lightning shots since we did have some bolts close by. But they were too obscured by the trees to look worth a flip. Darn the luck.
I just did the midnight dump and the rain gauge had 1.9 inch in it. It’s still sprinkling and we have light rain due tomorrow. We’ll see what the gauge has at midnight tomorrow for the first day in Dec.
The wind picked up quite a bit the last hour. It’s going to be a blustery day ahead.

Doesn’t sound like you’re Sunday is going to be very pretty. I think ours will just be chilly.
Well, as you can see, it’s late and tomorrow...don’t want any pew-bonking. So I might watch one more short show and say goodnight.
See ya tomorrow!

Nope, not going to be a very pretty day. The rest of the week will be pretty but chilly. It’s almost winter so it’s to be expected. LOL
Get a good night’s sleep so you don’t nod off in church.
