Police are dealing with an incident on London Bridge amid reports of shots being fired, Met Police have said.

Sky News is cutting the video at the actual moment the police shot the jihadist...uh...”suspect”. Several bystanders had tackled him and were restraining him on the ground. Police arrived and proceeded to pull those people off the man on the ground. One bystander moved away from the group carrying a large knife which presumably was taken from the attacker. At the moment they pulled the last bystander off him, it appeared the man started to get up. That’s when the shots rang out. The officers were only a few feet away from him. Good police work.

At least London is saying it is terror related. Part and parcel.
Armed police? Likely not your average bobby. Even if issued firearms, last I knew the firearms weren’t loaded. Unless the Met is allowing coppers at high profile sites to carry loaded weaponry.
They’re called Armed Response Units. They show up when the stabbing is completed.

why if he was already disarmed did they shoot him?
did he have something else on him? (suicide vest?)
Update by Met Police:
One suspect was shot dead by “special ops” police following a stabbing. A number of people were injured, no further details on them at this time. It was believed the suspect might have had an improvised explosive device attached to himself. This is a confirmed terrorist incident.

The police thought he might have had an explosive device attached to him. He moved around and appeared to try to stand and then they shot him. Sky News is stopping the video at that precise point. I don’t know if it’s available anywhere else.
I moved this story to Front Page - the London Police have said this is a “confirmed terrorist incident.” He was shot and killed when he tried to stand with a suicide vest. It turned out the vest was fake but his actions showed he wanted to die (looking for 72 virgens as his reward?).
Or middle, or a combo of it in any position or amount.
