Queen Elizabeth II is apparently considering retiring in about 18 months so her son, Prince Charles, can assume the throne, reports in the UK said Wednesday.
The 93-year-old monarch is weighing stepping down around her 95th birthday, the same age that her husband, Prince Philip, withdrew from his royal duties, sources told the UK’s Express.
“Her Majesty is mindful of her age and wants to make sure when the time comes, the transition of the Crown is seamless,” a former senior member of the royal household told the outlet.

We have come a long way since our primary differences with British royals. That being said, I will mourn the loss to English culture when the Queen turns in her crown. She seemed to carry the last bit of real England in her heart before the muslims sexually defiled their nation.

I have tremendous respect for the Queen, as well. (I hear the sound of my Irish ancestors spinning in their graves.)
My opinion on Charles has evolved, however, as a result of input from an Australian FReeper, naturalman1975, who knows the Prince from school. Our FReeper says that most of what we think we know of Charles is a result of what the UK press presents to us. He said that it is distorted much as the coverage of Trump is distorted. NM1975 says that Charles is misguided, however, in the area of Global Warming.

Gee, I’m so jealous the Brits have royalty I think we should set someone up. Just think, we could solve the nations problems by giving Hillary second prize by making her Queen Hillary and Bill could be King William. And then there would be hotter than ever Princess Chelsea. /s/

I was thinking the same thing - he’s “only” 71. He’s also “is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.” As long as he’s had to wait, if he does end up being king, he’ll hang on as long as he possibly can, ala Ruth Ginsburg, IMO.
What’s wrong with William?
Does she have to pass it to Charles? Or can she skip him?
