Heh, in the very near future, the CA Collection of Cretins will ban meat consumption.
Count on it.
(Oh, the lawmaking critters will - of course - still serve meat in their critter chambers.)
Californians, you still have time. Revolt and take care of the critters as you see fit. We do NOT recommend forgiveness.
I am surprised California hasn’t just banned steak altogether. After all, they need to do everything possible to save the planet...
Why eat seared steak when you can eat rare prime rib?(with horse radish)

Do you think their Mexican overlords are going to put up with that?
no steak = no farting cows
I bet the electric wok industry is chomping at the bit to get a foothold in California restaurants! :barf:

Actually, it’s already been proposed in one of the west coast states several years ago. It was under the auspices of a ‘concern’ for poisoning from under cooked hamburger. The candidate proposed requiring all meat be cooked to well done. The candidate admitted the real goal was to make steaks unpalatable by overcooking.
Of course they should, what better way to control the people than to limit energy sources, they already do that with water out there.
I have two houses in town and the house on the ranch. Both houses in the city have gas and electric, the in town houses have natural gas generators. With west Texas weather we lose power allot. The ranch house has electric, natural gas (Raw casing-head gas coming of a well) and propane. It also has a natural gas generator.

D*mn, had not thought of that. You’re right. When that sorry place officially becomes Mexifornia, things will really get interesting.
When the chef knows what they’re doing, a pan-seared steak finished in a 450 degree oven is just as good as a grilled steak. Maybe even better.
Well of course no seared steak. The environazis are eliminating cattle too.
Should have thrown the candidate on the grill. I understand they taste like chicken...
Natural gas, the cleanest fuel you can use would be banned by these absolutely crazy, nutty people?
They’ll pre-sear them in Nevada and ship them in frozen.
Clean? It is not clean when it comes from dirty enviromental destructive fracking /S

It’s also much more efficient at cooking than electricity.
Some of us have to sacrifice and eat the rest of the streak so the Prime Rib be left for folks like you who can afford it.
These buffoons think that you can take NG, make electricity, accept loses in power distribution and still heat as efficient and evenly as NG.
What next, sun baked rocks for cooking? Cause heaven knows these greenies cannot burn wood to cook with.

Perfect combo. Also, many times I’ll ask for either an end-cut (preferably, the loin end), or a regular slice, rare. Usually throws the waiter off as the end-cut is normally well done. To me, they’re two different food groups.
Another favorite... a baseball top, charred. Burned on the outside, rare inside.
Darn, now I’m hungry.
