Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the latest star of the Democrat effort to undo the 2016 election, is still at work on the National Security Council. While Trump supporters on the NSC like Rich Higgins and Ezra Cohen-Watnick were forced out, Vindman won't be. NSC staffers who criticized Obama holdovers or sought to expose their misbehavior are gone, but Vindman is still there while undermining Trump.
And thats the SNAFU of things on the NSC.
The National Security Council has been ground zero in the campaign against President Trump from the beginning. General Flynns appointment as National Security Advisor had touched the third rail because the NSC had been used to coordinate anti-Trump operations in the Susan Rice era.
The NSC doesnt answer to Congress. Its members are meant to advise the president. (Except when theyre actually working for a previous president.) They command the implements of foreign policy, traditionally the weakest element in domestic politics, but not when they start treating their domestic political opponents as agents of a foreign state. And the size of the NSC has gotten out of control.
Under Obama, the NSC staff hit 400 people. Thats up from a dozen during its Cold War origins.
And its the staff thats the problem.
The NSC was born in the Truman era, not as a byzantine government bureaucracy full of endless departments and hundreds of staffers, but as a means for key foreign policy and national defense figures to coordinate, develop options and then present them to the President of the United States.
People like Vindman or Fiona Hill were never supposed to be there.

PING!
It’s absolutely insane that Vidman is still there
“National Security Council”
...Blame Harry S. Truman...
(By Executive Order from January 22, 1946)
Flynn wanted to reform all of them. I wish he could come in and help POTUS with a major shake up.
Another great article by Daniel Greenfield.
...End the War on America's Free Constitutional Republic by dismantling the rest of the 80%+ unconstitutional Totalitarian Federal Government.
Why should the NSC be abolished because you don’t like people who work there?
Do Obama did & restaff it.
Yes the NSC is bloated. Obama increased federal staff by 100. The NSC had 100 under Bush.
By, for, of... PSYCH!
“The NSC doesnt answer to Congress.”
Or apparently the President either.
Why? Because it is unneeded, not provided for in the Constitution, and it gives the proven treasonous CIA too much of a voice in the White House. It has a demonstrated commitment to “independence” and has been a nest of spies against Trump.
A national security state, and a free constitutional republic are mutually exclusive.
wow!
an advisory council is probably okay, might even help once in a while
an entrenched bureaucrappy however is NOT what President Truman had in mind, and certainly we have FAR too much of it!
Fire them all and move on...
I would simply do what a President Washington would do: measure rope and put others away.
” It has a demonstrated commitment to independence and has been a nest of spies against Trump.”
NSC executives: Donald Trump, President of the United States (Chairman)
Michael Pence, Vice President
Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State
Mark Esper, Secretary of Defense
Rick Perry, Secretary of Energy
Kevin McAleenan, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security
If the President doesn’t like people working there, he can get rid of them
400 is way too many cooks in the kitchen. Find 12 guys and send the rest to do border patrol in North Dakota.
I’d rather fire 90% of the NSC, 90% of the State Department, and 90% of CIA/NSA/FBI desk jockeys than keep an anti-American deep state that “resists” the duly-elected President of the United States. I’m okay with field operatives from those agencies, unless they prove that they are also traitors, but the specialists in whispers are not on our side.
And Trump allows this to happen because....?
Why would anyone in the Trump Administration support Trump when they know Trump will never help them if they get fired, or indicted, or libeled, or politically assaulted?
