Any dengue cases reported here in USA?
I had to look it up to find out what it was.
I’ve heard it before but not for a long time.
Dengue is bad news.
The whole family has had it at one time or another. Nobody died, thanks to God.
It is painful suffering for a week or more.
Q Could this virus be passed to food by a mosquito, such as a squid or another fish product?
Boy you’re asking the wrong guy.
You mean infect the fish and then people eat it?
Great tourist venue!
My older brother got malaria while serving in the Navy.
I hate mosquitoes with a passion. They get no mercy from me.
Dengue can affect any age, any sex. It is a horrible disease. Effects from it don’t always appear with the presentation of the disease. A month after the fever and vomiting, etc., when the actual disease is not long present, the skin on hands and feet can peel off. Hair loss begins about month 3 and continues for another year. Depression, serious debillitating depression, develops and continues for a year and a half. There is a brain fog which accompanies the disease and it leaves a person vulnerable to other blood disorders such as malaria.
It is not a fun illness. I would wish it on my worst enemy if I really wanted them to die.
we have about 30 deaths from vaping with liquids that contain vit e additivies- and the media are hysterical in their zeal to ban vaping- but over 1000 deaths from dengue, which could be eradicated by usign DDT and the msm are like ‘meh- whatever’
Horrid. So sad.
I believe there has been. I read a little on it, its mosquito borne, viral infection, with several different strains. If you get it and survive youre immune to that strain for awhile but not the other strains very long. Viral diseases are a hard to treat. The vaccine working is pretty much limited to those whove had a strain of it and survived, from what Ive read it seems like a Hillary of a disease. In its advanced stage it is referred to I think as dengue hemorrhagic stage. Thats as bad as I think it gets. Its bad news.
One of my sons got it when he was in the Peace Corps in South America. He travelled from his country to Brazil and got it there.
No. If I had dengue and someone bit me, they would not become sick with dengue. It has to come from a mosquito.
Is this a problem where you are? Stay safe, FRiend.
Y’all were sick only a week? Mine lasted at least 3 weeks; I was too sick to fully remember. And, the effects continued for almost two years. I needed to have IV fluids for a while because the my entire digestive tract was everywhere. Or, at least it seemed that way. Then, since my red cells were way destroyed, I was tired ~ anemic ~ for quite some time after.
And they’d probably catch the beating of a lifetime :)
I had not even heard about it till now. I know its around. My wifes friends 7 year old had it for about 10 days, but it does not appear to have been real bad. There is no doubt she was sick, but I thought it would be worse that that.
Isn’t DDT available?
Does 113% higher mean 13% higher than the 2018 cases or 213% as many as the 2018 cases.
