I can't be outta here soon enough. Fortunately my small town will never pass this nonsense, but I expect it will go statewide soon.

That’s going to be fun when the communicable diseases start to surface.

On the plus side, if they keep this up, they may make life so unbearable that the cost of homes will finally drop there.

A 3 cent tax on tea once started a rebellion.

It doesn’t take any longer to clean jars than restock disposables?

And people believe that shit?

I didn't want to leave (born, raised, education, and worked for 59+ years in CA), but our only kid moved to Texas over three years ago and the wife had been nagging (yes, nagging!) me to move to Texas since we retired during the summer of 2017.

That said, I just checked the online realtor sites for the current "value" of our house we sold a bit over a year ago. These sites tend to be overly optimistic (of course, they're bought and paid for by realtors). So, I was surprised to see the value of our Silicon Valley house dropped over 6% from the sales price and over 10% of the "values" posted last summer. We may have gotten out at a good time.

Cup rentals? Mr. Bookman may have a new job in his retirement, chasing down cup scofflaws. Will he have to change his name?

You've got to know the cup sizes.

So, I can legally take a bodacious Obama in the street outside the coffee house, but cannot get my coffee in a disposable cup, right?

The big one will be a very just comeuppance.

About time.
This might be the last straw for these hats.

The take-out cup is American new religion

Aren’t these the folks that permit human feces and needles in the streets? Just legalized urinating in public?

And they ban plastic straws.

Now disposable coffee cups.

Wouldn’t you think that, at some point, common sense would prevail? Anyone...?

But it’s okay to defecate on the sidewalk and throw your used hypodermic needles on the street.

Maybe they can start using biodegradable cups made out of leaves.

In my city, we chose disposable coffee cups to human chit on the sidewalks. To each their own, I suppose.

They CAN'T bring in their own cups. They're using THOSE as TOILETS. ☕

But you can take a dump in the street and get free needles if you want to inject drugs into your body.

How progressive!

Oh wait. Cola companies were doing this with bottle deposits and returns a century ago.

Ahead of the change, the city has piloted a program that lets customers rent real mugs and be able to return them at 11 locations throughout the city, according to the Chronicle.

I'd like to report that my car was broken into.

What did they take, ma'am?

They smashed the side window and took my Starbucks for deposit coffee cup right out of the holder.
