He could have achieved a lot more if he had had a Valerie Jarrett pulling his strings. (Giggle)
I voted for him against Gerald Ford, wasn’t long before I realized my mistake, but you have to admit his brother Billy was a hoot.
Jimmuhs been a very bitter and nasty ex-President.
He was the WORST president in history until Bath House Barry came along, now Jimmuh is in second place.
I never said the man was perfect.
A horrible president. A naïve, incompetent man.
But I don’t believe he was/is corrupt.
I don’t wish any ill will on Jimmy Carter and hope he recovers, but over the years I’ve lost all respect for him.
He is very anti-Israel and he also believes that Jesus would approve of homosexual “marriage.”
This coming from a man who has “taught” the Bible for many years in Sunday school.
Do you think he was like the ones we have today?
For me, it was Stalin. IIt shows my age.
I know that I as a man would be hurt if my wife were to publicly state she lusted after a man in her heart. You do know what lust means right?
I spent 23 years with my second wife and not once did I see a woman I wanted to be with other than her.
If a woman was pretty, I let it go no farther than that. I never once lusted after some woman when I was dating or married to her.
Now you can think what you want. I don’t really mind.
That reflects on you, not me.
Great post. It is sad to see so many on FR wax poetic over such a horrible person as Jimmy Carter.
I remember very well the gas lines, and ‘fireside-chats- dressed-in-a-sweater’.
There were inconveniences.
But I only began to realize that our culture was breaking down when Clinton came along; and really afraid, when Obama came later.
Yeah him too.
I agree undoubtedly. It's popular here to say Obama or Clinton but when you look at long term damage, the policies enacted under LBJ altered this nation in ways that we will never recover from.
Carter did increase the number of refugees the country took in, but the big change in the immigration laws came with Lyndon Johnson. It was Reagan who put through the amnesty plan that Carter couldn’t get Congress to pass.
Thanks. I was working back then and not following the nut-job all the time. I hadn’t remembered his changing the quotas away from Europe.
If true (and I have no reason to doubt you), no wonder we don’t seem to have as many people coming from Europe.
Thanks for the mention.
Wow. Did not know that.
Hope it hurts.
And don’t forget...he was REALLY good keeping track of the Whitehouse tennis courts.
What a beautiful thing to say. I have wondered for years were there any men out there that could behave this way. Makes me believe that Jesus knew it could be done, and I thank you for that boost in the belief that it can be.
