The group searched the same area the previous weekend but were forced to leave after being threatened by a group of presumed cartel gunmen. At least 10 sets of human remains were uncovered, and were transported to Hermosillo autopsies and identification. The total number of unearthed victims from the area now stands at 58.
Of all the bodies previously recovered, only one set of remains has been returned to the appropriate family, according to Sonora authorities.

Ah yes.
I remember the open borders activists here in 2008 and in 2012 who attacked those of us who believe that border security is an existential issue.
I cant wait for a US led military strike into Mexico to kill bad guys with extreme prejudice and great success.
Well that would be damned stupid to do without first securing the border now wouldn’t it?
Fortunately for the united states militarily competent people are in charge and finally working to correct that vulnerability.
Then (but not until) operations like you suggest.
We will never do that.
ever
When I was about 10 years old in 1967 we drove down to Puerto Peñasco and camped out on the beach. It was my first visit to Mexico (actually the first time I ever left US soil). We did not feel unsafe. Sad how times have changed.
We used to vacation in Puerto Peñasco very regularly when I was younger, theres no way I would step across the Mexican border again. Mexico is a failed narco-state where nobody is safe anywhere.
The USA has MOAB’s. Mexico has drug/human smuggling cartels.
A meeting between the two should be arranged repeatedly until there’s no longer a need.
Canadians are allowed to have guns, Mexicans aren’t. By the anti-gunners’ reasoning Mexico should be less violent than Canada.
Heck yeah, we haven’t done that since Wilson sent Pershing to Mexico in 1914 to root out criminals. That was little over a century ago, and the left adores Wilson to this day...
I hope it’s all democrats who are wandering around Mexico.
Have I mentioned 1000 times that I truly. deeply hate Mexico?
Lived in LA for 15 years. Every single time we went to Mexico, something terrible happened.
Agree.
Had an uncle who, many years ago, used to fish there.
We had family in El Paso and - many years ago - would visit and cross the border for a fun day of shopping and an excellent lunch. Same with Laredo/Nuevo Laredo.
NOT ANY MORE!!
I don’t know anyone who goes across that border, anymore.
Im amazed that HGTV glamorizes Americans looking for properties down there (House Hunters International). They make it seem so idyllic.
Of course for them, Mexico is probably the cheapest country to film in.
Wonder if anybody featured on the show has ended up in a mass grave.
I could probably tell who some of them were, but I don’t want to start a fight tonight.
Visitors still go to Tijuana (population 1.4 million, the same as San Diego) in significant numbers. It's reasonably safe if you're not targeted by the cartels. But obey all laws.
More likely will happen as a request for military assistance from the Mexican Govt. at some point in the future.
Would somebody please explain what this is? I can’t make any sense of it.
