Elections do, indeed, have consequences.
Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) of blackface fame boasted this week that his party is ready to implement an array of gun control measures in the commonwealth now that Democrats control all three branches of government, and his administration is already "working on" a plan for confiscating so-called "assault weapons" from law-abiding gun owners.
What are the details?
The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Northam wants to bring back eight "common-sense" gun control measures that Republicans shot down during a special session in July, prioritizing "universal background checks, banning the sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, restoring the law that limits purchases to one gun a month, and a red flag law that would empower a court to temporarily remove a gun from a person deemed to be a risk to himself or others."
When asked directly about whether he is supportive of confiscating "assault weapons from gun owners" Northam replied, "That's something I'm working [on] with our secretary of public safety. I'll work with the gun violence activists, and we'll work [on] that. I don't have a definitely plan today."
On Tuesday, Virginia voters handed Democrats total control of the commonwealth's General Assembly — flipping both the Senate and the House of Delegates from red to blue majorities. The Democratic Party now controls not only Virginia's legislature, but holds the governorship, lieutenant governorship, attorney general, and both U.S. Senate seats.
Northam believes the results from Tuesday's election shows Virginia is now a solid Democratic stronghold. When a reporter referred to the commonwealth as "a pretty purple state" during a cabinet meeting Wednesday, the governor pushed back, according to The Post.
"The is a blue state," Northam said. "I made that announcement last night...So Virginia's blue. I want everybody to know that." Anything else?
CNBC reported that Everytown for Gun Safety — a gun control-advocacy group largely bankrolled by billionaire Michael Bloomberg — "spent $2.5 million this year to influence voters in Virginia versus approximately $300,000 by the NRA, which has its headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia."

The DC beltway has swallowed the rest of the state, just as Seattle is swallowing Washington State and Denver is swallowing Colorado. All you need is one huge metropolis and it’s commie Rat tentacles will devour the rest of your state.
Put another way, outside of the DC beltway in VA and outside of Richmond, population density is very low. There are not many people. So you have a huge number of lightly populated counties that vote conservative. When Richmond was smaller, and before the area of VA outside the DC beltway had a modest number of DC employees, the rest of the lightly populated counties dominated Virginia politics with solidly conservative representation.
Massive expansion of DC employment (those people all moved to Virginia or Maryland), and massive legal immigration to NOVA, have so heavily populated the 2 northern counties, that they now dominate Virginia with commie Marxists.
NoVa may be small in area but huge in population. Virginia is doomed. She is done. Stick a fork in her. The Old Dominion has become the New Californistan.
There will soon be a mass exodus of conservatives from Virginia. I can’t blame them. I too would leave if I lived there. But that is going to create a supermajority of lib-tard Virginia voters.
Next masses of New Yorkers and people from New Jersey and CT, Mass and all of commie New England are going to now descend on Virginia because face it, it is a great place to live. And now that it is a RAT bastion, soon with strict gun control, high welfare payments, he/she/it toilets, LBGTQPDFWTF friendly, gun-banning, and atheist teeming with bedwetting commies — it will be a magnet for liberals fleeing snow country.
Virginia is flat f___ed. Never to return. Ever. It is over and it is a massive tragedy.
Texas is the next state in Soros’s sights. If it takes Texas, it is “GAME OVER, MAN”.
I don’t see it happening quickly but he is going to pour money into taking Texas. And one day, Texas will be blue. The day that happens, is the day the last Republican president has been elected.
Texas is the 2nd most populous state behind California. No Republican president has ever been or could ever be elected without Texas’s 38 electoral votes. Once we lose Texas, America is full blown Marxist and there will be no place to go to escape it.

I just heard on Hannity today there was no GOP support in Virginia. They didn’t even try to win seats.
I agree with you in the long run, but in the short run they will just ask honest people to follow the law. The problem with honest people is that they tend to do just that — follow the law. So many honest Virginians will say “I hate to surrender my guns, but it is the law. We will move and I will buy another”.
I am an honest person, but there is a time for Civil Disobedience. Defiance of such a law is a perfect time for it, and there will be many honest people who don’t comply.
God help Virginia.

That’s what has already happened in the Richmond area over the last 10 years to flip our representation.
I hear you but now all state laws will rapidly go commie Rat. Once all the new socialistic/liberalistic laws are passed, Virginia is going to be flooded with liberals moving there. You didn’t get huge numbers when Virgnia was dominated with conservative laws. It is going to be a cattle drive now, especially after most conservatives move out.
VA will become just like CA where our last 2A hope can only come from SCOTUS. So we wait...............
I had the same thought.
It is a real danger and I don’t think it is that long in coming, at the rate libs are moving there and immigrants are invading.
My hope is that the criminal investigations will wipe out the high ranking dims and swamp critters that are at the bottom of this.
Also we must reform our education system from the first year to grad schools.
Teaching 8 year old girls how to put a condom on a boy instead of teaching them about our intended government structure and how the real economic system works would bed more appropriate.
The Education Department should be shut down and total control of schools returned to the states.
And any teacher who is not willing to return to reading, writing and arithmetic should be fired on the spot.
That’s what I figured. I live in the peoples Republic of Connecticut and if you look at a map of how individual towns voted, since we only have eight counties, basically the cities ofHartford, Bridgeport, New Haven And immediate surrounding municipalities, and parts of Fairfield county near New York Dictate how any state wide race will end up. The rest of the state He is conservative or has very close races, unlike the cities where 90% vote for the Democrat.
Let see of the Civil War begins here! Thousand of dead DC liberal swamp rats would be grand!

I find that hard to believe. Up here in the northeast we fully comply with every dictate that comes out of Albany and Hartford.

I believe that a real civil war IS the only way back. Conservatives are incapable of coming together in agreement over any cause. This Republic will not prevail.

It is a different place. Viginia’s nest of ants are Arlington, Faifax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties. Maryland’s are Montgomery, Prince Georges, Howard, and Baltimore counties. Each of those four groups are the ones who lord over the rest of the red-leaning counties and have a stranglehold on the citizenry. A few years back, those bastards in Maryland gerrymandered Roscoe Bartlett (R) out of his own district to put in Commiecrat in place. That seat was held for ages by Republicans in a conservative stronghold in the state.Virginia did the same thing. Now the only way you’ll be able to uproot these vermin in either capitol is a civil insurrection or a catastrophic disaster inside the Beltway.
