Former national security adviser John Bolton is willing to defy the White House and testify in the House impeachment inquiry about his alarm at the Ukraine pressure campaign if a federal court clears the way, according to people familiar with his views.
Bolton could be a powerful witness for Democrats: Top State Department and national security officials have already testified that he was deeply concerned about efforts by Trump and his allies to push Ukraine to open investigations into the president’s political rivals while the Trump administration held up military aid to that country.
The former national security adviser, who abruptly left his post in September, is expected to confirm their statements and describe his conversations with Trump, according to the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing inquiry.

People, this is fake news.
He may dislike the President but he hates the leftist congress. That and if he wants to have a future he would be smart to not testify.
I’ll wait until I hear his testimony.
I believe Ukraine was the principal philosophical battle ground between the Neocons and the Nationalists.
The Neocons wanted to absorb them into NATO and deploy major forces there. To include the eastern provinces.
Not because they cared about Ukraine, but because they wanted to squeeze Russia.
And we Nationalists considered that completely insane, offering only token assistance while preparing to abandon them.
Fake news.
It would be funny if he used the event to present testimony that HELPS the president.

John Bolton -- or anyone else, for that matter -- could not possibly make the case that anything President Trump has done with regard to Ukraine has involved overstepping his constitutional authority.
Even if everything reported in this piece is true, it would be just one more witness in a long line of them whose testimony goes something like this:
MEMBER OF CONGRESS: "How did you react to that phone call?"
WITNESS: "I was more alarmed than I've ever been in my life. I shat myself, peed all over the floor, and couldn't sleep for days."
MEMBER OF CONGRESS: "Wow -- it was that bad. Did it threaten the existence of humanity?"
WITNESS: "No."
MEMBER OF CONGRESS: "Was it illegal?"
WITNESS: "No."
MEMBER OF CONGRESS: "Then what was so alarming about it?"
WITNESS: "Uh ... It just didn't sound like a good idea."
MEMBER OF CONGRESS: "I have no further questions. I'm sure it's time for your nap, and your mother must be waiting outside to check your diaper, you simpering little @sshole."
Trump should request from Ukraine, a list of family members of US government workers who have received payments from the Ukraine government and Ukraine companies. Just wondering who else besides the Bidens and the Pelosis have been rewarded for family ties.
Doesn't that headline just grab your attention? Talk about drama.......
