In most general elections, I don’t find more than 2 candidate worth my consideration.

We have this crap in Maine for federal elections.

Cost the GOP House incumbent (Congressman Bruce Poliquin) his House seat in November 2018.

I believe in Maine, a Republican who received the most votes, but not the majority, lost the election using this system.

Portland Maine’s very liberal mayor, Ethan Strimling has lost reelection via rank choice, final results not in but he conceded about 10 pm. We are waiting for the final tabulation to confirm the first place finisher finished first. Somehow Portland will end up with the best option for mayor.

This kind of voting system can actually be a useful tool; but not where the outcome is a one time win-lose situation like a political election. Winning a plurality should be sufficient; to tinker with that and reach a different outcome is unwarranted and stupid.

Ranked Fraud Voting

Moving second or fifth rank to first is fraud.

Plurality majority already won the election.
Those voters are disenfranchized.

Choice of hanging tree should be on the ballot.
Always write in your choice 5 as Hanging Tree or Fraud Vote.

Calculated way to keep Communist fringe candidates in the running and winning when the disguised Communist bosses directly instruct voters to do target voting for their one or two candidates. Everyone else’s vote is diluted by random choice. Targeted voting works well, since the rest of the votes are scattered.

Proposed, endorsed by leftists, and enacted in Minneapolis, a few years ago.
That should tell you all you need to know about ranked choice cheating.

This is a rejection of the “one person, one vote” principle. The proponents of Rank Choice Voting might/would argue otherwise.
It inserts a hypothetical element into the process - “If the person who I vote for loses, how can I ‘spend’ my vote a second time.”
Not sure how this is even Constitutional. But we have some may things that aren’t ... it is getting to be a long list.

So of course this dumbass vote-switching plan will be supported by the same folks who want the electoral college eliminated.
It’s just another way to disenfranchise the minority (numerical, not racial) vote.

Being a near uniparty city is not enough. They are now going for a Marxist uniparty city.

“Non-partisan” primaries and ranked voting are just two of the ways the Marxists have used to try to eliminate the competition.
