in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Holy and Righteous God,

How easy it is to slip away from You when we fail to honor Your Word and Your truths. So often we simply go along with the opinions and standards of the world so that we don’t have to appear contrary or “different.” Lord, forgive us of our weaknesses. Only with You and through You can we have the strength to stand for what is good and true. We ask You to help us always to preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; for only then can we be useful and faithful to You and Your Kingdom.

Father, we commit our President to You and seek Your powerful will to be done in His life. We ask for wisdom and understanding for him as well as Your mighty protection over his health and his family. We ask You to help him uphold a strong standard of righteousness and justice as he pursues peace and prosperity for our country. Help him to lead America to be a light of liberty and truth for all nations. May he walk humbly before You, Lord, and may he seek You with all his heart.

For Israel, Your beloved, we pray for Your ministering angels to stand watch over her and to hide her people from all harm and danger. We ask for Your countenance to shine upon them and for Your grace to surround them.

Lord, we need people of God who are willing to stand for all of Your truths---not just those that are popular or convenient. Father, give us the courage and boldness we need to make a difference in this dark world. As Americans and Christians, help us to accept the responsibility we have to vote for godly men and women this week. Lord, call Your people to go to the polls on Tuesday and to take a stand for the biblical foundation on which this nation was established. Help us, Lord, to be the salt and light that You have called us to be. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
