President Trump cut an ad for Louisiana gubernatorial candidate Eddie Rispone as Republicans seek to gin up support for their candidate with early voting underway starting Saturday.
Louisiana, you got to get out and vote for Eddie Rispone on Nov. 16. He is a fantastic man, a great success. Everything hes touched has turned to gold, and now he wants to help your state, Trump said in the ad released on the event of early voting.
Your current governor, John Bel Edwards, is a disaster. Eddie Rispone will protect your Second Amendment. John Bel Edwards will not, he added. So get out and vote Eddie Rispone on Nov. 16. He will be a great Republican governor, and I look forward to working with him. He has my absolute, total endorsement.
The GOP candidate is facing off against Edwards, the only Democratic governor in the Deep South, in the runoff this month after no candidate garnered more than 50 percent support in the all-party primary election in October.
Rispone and Rep. Ralph Abraham (R) split the Republican vote with 27.3 percent and 24.2 percent, respectively.
While no sitting Louisiana governor has ever won reelection after being forced into a runoff, polling has shown Edwards in a strong position. A Mason-Dixon poll conducted before the primary found Edwards leading Rispone by 51 percent to 42 percent, though that margin will likely narrow as Abraham voters coalesce behind their party's nominee.
SNIP
Not "cut" as in 'lobbed off and removed'.
R 58.1 D 38.5
” A Mason-Dixon poll conducted before the primary “
Before the primary. The Hill is a joke.
Cut was used in terms of vinyl production
It is old
It is used in this case to make headline readers feel (what people do now. Instead of think) tgat Trump changes his mind about this candidate
"Cut" sounded like he removed an ad.
Great!!! Just remember GOP.....if we win in Louisiana, Kentucky & Mississippi in the coming weeks...we win for sure in 2020. Get your butts out and vote every single, living, breathing GOP voter...period!!! Try in Virginia...too!!! And...New Jersey....too!!! VOTE...ALL OF YOU GOP Trumpsters, etc.!!!
I wish the Republicans in this state would primary or have a nominating convention. This crap of beating each other up, and then going the come together is suicide.
I hope they can pull it together.
Rispone Is headed to a 10 point win.
The media are so clever.
Rispone should win (he has my vote). The 3 Republican candidates drew more votes than the three Democrats (actually 2 Democrats and a 3rd party Democrat) did. Everything I’ve read by Tal Axelrod suggests he is a Democrat rah rah supporter.
Vote early! Vote often!(where possible) Vote TRUMP!!!
This is awesome! More Great News!
They love Trump down in LA and every GOP candidate is begging him to come.
He was in Tupelo last night. Trump will hit Kentucky Monday.
If Deep State Republicans don’t continue to sabotage the Deplorable movement, President Trump can govern awesomely both domestically and in foreign affairs. He’d be unbeatable and the ‘pubs could regain the House and keep the Senate. The question is if Deep State Republicans are more interested in holding on to their grip on power or being the majority.
No. Their interest is being as lazy as possible while doing deals.
I agree - these primary campaigns give the Democrats too much ammunition to use against our candidate in the general election.
Talking and visiting with family and friends over there quite a bit the last few days. They’re PO’d over all this impeachment crap. Many that probably wouldn’t have turned out for the run off, will turn out to vote for Respone just to spite the RATs anywhere and anyhow they possibly can to fight back. As my shooting Cajun buddy said, “I’d have crawled a mile over broken glass just to vote for Trump in 2020. Now, with all this impeachment BS, I’d crawl 100 miles over broken glass to vote for Trump and drag 10 more people with me to vote for him too.” I got the point when he said it.
I like both your thinking and your actions!!! Go, Trump, Go, Louisiana, Go, MAGA!!!
‘cut an ad’. Street talk?
Was looking back over past LA elections. One thing I noticed is that you cant assume the same partisan turnout on runoff day as on primary day. It can swing by as much as 10% in either direction.
But Im optimistic because we now have President Donald J Trump who will work to ensure that we have strong turnout for the runoff.
