The Dearborn Public Schools website states it matter-of-factly: "Dearborn Public Schools ensures all meats served in our schools are certified Halal." Now one courageous mother is fighting back, challenging Dearborn public school officials to explain why they have done this and to provide options for students who object to halal food.
The mother wrote to Dearborn schools superintendent Glenn Maleyko, noting, "Schools have never changed lunches to fit any other religious needs. If one needed a special diet due to religion or health, they did what all other students do, bring a lunch from home."
Maleyko responded: "The decision was based on operational considerations only, not religion. By implementing an all Halal meat option we have increased the number of students that we are serving[.] ... It would cost a lot more to provide both Halal and non-Halal meat."
In the long run, the superintendent will find it far, far costlier to have capitulated to Islamic supremacism and set this precedent.

Some of those leftists in government forcefully importing muslims have been wearing R jerseys and I am ashamed to say in some cases I voted for them, bet you did too.
Bush League Republicans MUST become extinct before the Republic does.
“...They are colonizing America....”
Yep. Which is exactly why they were brought here...to do that very thing. They should ALL be exported back to whatever shite hole they crawled out of.
Halal meats... No thanks...a local grocery store is 100% Halal (it used to be a Winn Dixie, now it is a locally owned junk food place) and I won’t shop there...
Your first two reasons are all that I have ever needed. Re your third reason - I have found more to substantiate that but the first two were already MORE than enough. Thank you.
There are some areas of NY where everything is Kosher, including publicly owned food service and college dorm cafeterias. No-one dies from Kosher or Halal religious stamps of approval. They might die from the “4.000 year war” in the middle east (or fat and calories in some of the ethnic delicacies), but probably not from the mere ethnicy of food.
“Most of the objections were to avoid sacrificing animals to an idol.”
God Bless you and your neighbors who stopped that.
how is it ‘far costlier’ for a child to bring a bag lunch?
Be cause it’s not about money.
It’s about conquest.
There’s one out here in the middle of Hillbilly Heaven.
I dread going by it, never look over that way and turn the stereo up as loud as it will go, when I do.
The screaming is horrible...especially the goats.
“No-one dies from Kosher or Halal religious stamps of approval.”
But there are plenty that have died because they haven’t received the “Halal stamp of approval” in their religious beliefs...
Oh you can bet on that alright.
Separation of church and state anyone?
Bible says not to eat meat as raficed to idols, so we are forcing Christian’s to be subjugated to something against their religion along with Jews I suspect. As lo g as Chrisrians can choose Kosher it’s ok. But schools should be in the teaching business. Not in the restaurant business.
But what about separation of church and state?
Islam is a war plan
Has been for awhile. I just wonder if it tastes the same. I understand they kill the animals a different way. Maybe it make it more tender. Who knows.
“...Kosher options.”
Operative word, “options.” A choice isn’t mandatory or imposed on non-Jews, and
Kosher doesn’t imply the establishment of a Jewish state.
Islam seeks to establish a caliphate and impose Islamic customs wherever Muslims achieve a majority.
Dumb logic. And what’s wrong with pork?
Abolish
Government
Schools.
I think Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer should get the Presidential Medal Of Freedom.
I've had 2 experiences eating Halal chicken recently.
They must have chased that chicken around the barnyard until it died of exhaustion. Scrawny and tough.
Its starts off innocent and leads to sharia law for us all one day.
