Joe Biden refused to rule out serving only one term as president if elected in 2020, claiming he was not ready to make that judgement at this moment. The 76-year-old former vice president, who would be the oldest person ever inaugurated as commander in chief if elected in 2020 save for his Democrat rival Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT), made the admission during an interview with the Associated Press on Saturday in South Carolina when asked if age mattered among White House hopefuls.
Right now its a legitimate question to ask, just like it was legitimate to ask me when I was 29 years old running for the Senate, did I have enough judgment to be a senator, Biden said. Right now, my age has brought with it a significant amount of experience in government and hopefully wisdom and some sound judgment.
When pushed if his age would open up the possibility of serving only one term in the presidency, Biden asserted he was not ready to make such a promise, but also admitted he would not automatically commit to running for reelection in 2024.
I feel good and all I can say is, watch me, youll see, the former vice president said. It doesnt mean I would run a second term. Im not going to make that judgment at this moment.
Bidens comments come as his campaign struggles amid anemic fundraising, questions over his sons business dealings with foreign governments, and doubts over his own fitness for the presidency. The latter, in particular, has bogged down the former vice presidents campaign since early summer.

The Great White Dope.
He won’t even make it through the primaries
He can only spew about 4 lines from memory, due to 40 years of being nothing but a professional bullshit artist. (aka...stand-up philosopher)
And then he goes off the rails with his fact-less story-telling and tough-guy routine
He’s going to blow a brain vein before this is over
Guess again dipsh!t.
You have had a lot of experience that appears to have taught you nothing about governing.
Biden said. Right now, my age has brought with it a significant amount of experience in government and hopefully wisdom and some sound judgment.
Swing and a miss, einstein.
LOL.....nice slapdown.
The Democrats are going to put him through all this only to let Hillary slide in after Bidens huge public funeral. Im not a fan of Joes but this is a train wreck and I feel sorry for the guy.
Believe me, Joe will never have to worry about a second term because he’ll never have a first one.
Oh I think we’re the ones who will do the ruling out, but thanks Joe.
You can see it in his face that he’s really not into this, both physically and mentally
Amazing what one can accomplish with a teleprompter and softball question given in advance.
Swing and a miss, einstein.
LOL!
He’s finished. Not Commie enough but he tries.
But I remember clearly when Gerald Ford said he would not seek a full term of his own. Then the announcer said in the next election cycle “It turns out President Ford kind of likes living in that house on Pennsylvania Avenue and he now says he will seek his own term in the election.”
He’s promising one and done and that’s supposed to make him more palatable?
Wait a minute!
That means I would have to talk to the idiot.
Never mind.
Chances of Joe Biden being elected in 2020 are about as close as the earth and the sky. No matter how far over that horizon you travel, the sky is still up there, and the earth is still down here.
There is a vanishingly small probability he shall even be nominated for the Presidency, much less having the stamina to pursue a serious campaign for the job. If you don’t have high energy, you cannot possibly be a match for The Donald, a living, breathing human dynamo.
Not even to Democrats
If they win the White House they want someone who is going to run as an incumbent because it is much harder for a challenger to win against the sitting president.
How about doing a real service to the country and withdrawing from the race now?
As if he would be elected in the first place.
