“DemonRats are enemies of the Republic. No exceptions.”

That should be repeated on a daily basis.

IMHO

If she is a Major or LTC, she probably is packing. That part of the 2nd Amendment is OK.

Explain your thinking please. I don't see the connection.

“Medical Specialist” on “the front”.

The closest I’ve seen to an accurate description of what Gabbard did as an enlisted National Guardsman on her 2004 2005 OIF deployment was that she was an admin clerk on LSA Anaconda.

She was 23 and had been in the state legislature for a couple years when she enlisted, joining a medical unit that was commanded by a fellow House member. Local story says she enlisted in an admin position.

LSA Anaconda in 2005 was a 17.5 square mile (inside the fence) base with movie theaters, a couple swimming pools and she writes for her local paper at the time that they were upgrading from tent city to trailers for living quarters. Anaconda got hit by mortars or rockets, and she talks in her hometown news article about hearing and worrying about explosions, and for the safety of comrades who go out on “missions”.

An 81mm mortar has a range of about three and a half miles. I don’t know where the Army was billeting medical admin clerks on Anaconda, but I would wager it was out of mortar range.

Anaconda got the nickname “Mortaritaville” because it was hit often in years prior, but by 2005 I’d guess it was a safe place for service support types if you weren’t patrolling the perimeter or going beyond the fence on convoy or patrol.

She received a couple notable decorations. One is the Combat Medic Badge, the other a Meritorious Service Medal. It is possible to receive either as a junior enlisted admin type on a big Logistical Support Area, but for someone advertised as one of the first female combat vets to run for President, they do raise questions, especially when you consider that she was, at the time, a political animal.

I’m cynical enough to look at any unusual decorations or awards given to deployed junior enlisted State Guard politicians with a jaundiced eye, and doubly so when here website beats the “combat veteran” drum so loudly.

I was a deployed REMF reservist in another branch a few years earlier, and was close enough to the Division puzzle palace to see how decorations and awards were doled out.

Her Tulsi 2020 website bio says:

“The first day Tulsi arrived at her camp in Iraq, she saw a large sign at one of the gates that read, “Is today the day?” It was a blunt reminder that today may be the day that any of the soldiers would be called to make the ultimate sacrifice for their country. It caused her to reflect on her own life and the reality that each of us could die at any moment.

While serving in a base in the Sunni Triangle at the height of the war, Tulsi had the heart-wrenching daily responsibility of going through the list of every injury and casualty in the entire theatre of operations, looking to see if any soldiers in her unit were on the list, so she could ensure they received the care they needed and their families were notified.”

Also:

“Tulsi is the first female combat veteran ever to run for the presidency and is the first female combat veteran ever elected to Congress, along with Tammy Duckworth”

In 2004, GWB’s National Guard service got a microscopic exam from the press, and I don’t recall any purple prose on his website about how flying fighter jets made him think we can die at any moment.

What you say is true but any support for her (perceived or otherwise) fractures the leading candidates. The more divided they are, the more rabid they appear and voters can see what kind of character (or lack thereof) is running for POTUS. Exposure is something 'Rats can't stand.

The important part of my comments is the bolded portion:

I don't think conservatives are a cheerleader for Gabbard...as much as they are pleased to see someone who hasn't completely drunk from the Kool Aid (emphasis added).

I would add that her military record and the nuggets of relative normalcy (i.e. She isn't fully supportive of third trimester abortion or total gun confiscation) have made her Democrat antimatter, which causes an explosion in DNC land from time to time. That has helped shine light on the extrema of the Dems, which in turn has likely stirred up a longing sentiment of "can't we just get a normal Democrat in this crowded field?" from Dem leaning people and centrists.

The REAL cheerleading should be for Gabbard to keep being that magnifying glass. In the end, her candidacy is doomed because she'll draw about 5% of the vote. However, she is generating more than enough video and audio content for Trump to remind voters how left the Dems are, to bring about a right thrashing at the polls. If we are lucky, she may even help Republicans with congressional elections.

Franly, most of the "cheerleading" I see herein is knuckle-dragging over her looks.

I disagree, in part.

I see the woke urban atheistic predominantly white degreed affluent liberal statists who are Dems to be akin to Loyalists. But they make up about 25% of Dems.

The balance of Dems are generally split between poor minority "used and abused" folks and working class people . True, some of these people will never vote for a Republican. But a bigly portion of the others may not love Trump, but they know they are getting screwed by politicians and think the current Dem crop of candidates are just nuts. They are also doing better under Trump than Obama, and many of them secretly agree with the President on the rule of law and society.

It is this latter group of people that can be "saved" who I wouldn't abandon just yet. Trump won by 78k votes - we need a massive margin in 2020 to combat DNC fraud and other shenanigans.

If Gabbard helps show (unintentionally I may add) these fellow Americans just how much the Dems have abandoned them, and help get them on the Trump Train, then that is a god thing.

If I was her, you can bet your butt I would have one, my mind would be on Seth Rich not the 2nd Amendment wording. Don’t forget what happened to the person who made the birth certificate that was suppose to be Obama’s. Too many coincidental accidents and murders not to raise eyebrows. Did they give up on Rich? Tulsi better have SS protection 24/7. But can you trust anyone in Govt. any more? r/

>>It gives her more insight than the hawks on both sides who want to keep us in these wars, never mind that she has served as a medical specialist on the front.<<

On that, the three of us agree. The fight against the practitioners of Islam is a multi-generational struggle. I was standing alerts on a carrier flight deck and intercepting Iranian & Soviet surveillance and bomber aircraft 40 years ago. The civilized world has been battling Mohammedans for more than a millennium, and it will continue. What we must get away from is counterinsurgency, peacekeeping, or nation building missions, and focus strictly on brief, fierce, overwhelming punitive actions, where, when, and if warranted, and only if a hard, identifiable, and vital American interest is involved

Attractive, feminine leftist women are a rarity unless you count the trannies. So Gabbard gets more attention than she deserves. She’s still a leftist above all else and thus not electable. Hope she keeps ragging on the queen of corruption, though.

“But in terms of policy, she is as radical as the rest of the Democratic presidential hopefuls. “

that’s an absolute fact ... tulsi is nothing more than a vicious, ravenous wolf dressed up as a cute cuddly sheep ... her appearance of being reasonable is nothing more than a throwback to the old Dem playbook of a decade ago of pretending to be middle-of-the-road to get elected in order to implement radical leftist polices once elected ... (of course, that playbook is long gone now that the rest of the Dems dropped their sheep’s masks and donned their natural wolf’s robes due to Trump Derangement Syndrome and their delusion that a tiny majority of bots and trolls posting 90% of all tweets is somehow the core of their “base”)

You’re right — but plenty of RINOs, CINOs, and FINOs are. She’d be destroyed in a matchup against President Trump, but she could be useful in the destruction of the other Demwit candidacies.

Conservatives don’t “cheerlead” for Tulsi Gabbard. They simply point out that she’s not following the Democrat pack, and appears to be hated by the Clinton establishment because she is different.

She’s still a leftist on most social and political issues.

Atheists, Democrats or whatever one might call them are snarky, propaganda-filled, hubris-laden indiduals who want to change or eliminate the Constutution.

It’s either their way or the re-education camps.

Dangerous, duplicitous and conscientious evolutionaries ,they are
Closed minded and rejecting of different points of vsew.

Conservatism is finished. It has conserved nothing and brought us to the place we are now.

Donald Trump and Tulsi Gabbard are both candidates who have moved beyond conservatism and liberalism.

That’s why they are both interesting.

Trump is friendly to libertarianism. Gabbard wants a strong state. These opposites need to be resolved before we can move forward.
