If they were ever really with us.

It's taking a very long time, however slowly but surely (some) people are beginning to finally understand the totality of the existing system. Up until the formation of the USA, not a single civilization in the annals of history ever afforded the common man with one iota of freedom or liberty. If you didn't want to live as a serf or slave, and either escaped or chose to live outside of government/clan protection, then you were simply subject to outlaws and roving bands of marauders.

It's important to understand this context in order to comprehend just how unique the USA republic was at inception. But, there were two factors working against it from the very beginning: (a) every design or system always - including governments - have at least one weakness that can be exploited; and (b) 1-2% of any given population are psychopaths obsessed with acquiring and exercising power and control over others is a constant throughout human evolution.

What we have today is the result of the inherent, built-in weaknesses of republican forms of government transitioning to a fully formed corrupt security state merely by expanding the franchise to reach maximum representation of lowest IQ citizens. Then, add to that shameless and self-serving omnivorous sociopaths that exploit the inherent greed, naivete, and/or lack of understanding from the expanded constituency.

The result is that the ENTIRE system, including all branches of government, all factions (political parties), all bureaucracies and all military/security apparatus are fully committed to exploiting the system for PERSONAL gain. Now, this isn't necessarily an indictment on a personal level, but it does acknowledge that everyone, regardless of professed fealty & duty, is a self-serving economic actor. Btw, this includes ambitious officers who love nothing better than playing global cop with the newest weapons systems vs actually defending US borders.

The system as originally constructed recognized these hard truths, and so created the divisions of power. But, as noted above, all it took was a dedicated, intentional drive to destroy the franchise, and the result would be incredibly realized riches, power and prestige. And that is what we have today. Now, as so many others have noted, there is only one way out of this box, one that Jefferson advised towards 200 years ago.

And so we sit, wondering if Trump's last stand will tip the scales towards victory. Or, will we merely resume the status quo that was cemented into place over 30 years ago, to which only some are waking up to discover the war of independence was lost a generation ago.

Are contributions to Trump at https://www.donaldjtrump.com
Exclusively for Trump/Pence or does the RNC share?

My intent is to support Trump without supporting
the RNC RINOs.

The GOP advisors will be reassuring the GOP Pols that deserting Trump won’t hurt their reelection chances. Certainly RINOs like Romney believe this. These people live in a bubble and can be convinced of anything.

THE ALWAYS BRILLIANT VICTOR DAVIS HANSON ON
“WHY DO THEY HATE HIM SO?”

The politicians have another, more personal reason:
HE’S EXPOSING THE CORRUPTION MANY OF THEM WOULD RATHER NOT BE KNOWN LEST THEY BE SENT HOME...OR TO JAIL!

"If Republicans Don’t Stand By Trump, They Risk Losing Their Base Forever"

Agreed. Abandon Trump, and the Republicans become a mere historical footnote like the Whigs - and that's if our Republic even survives.

Here's why: Trump is our representative AGAINST THE SWAMP, against those who would effectively enslave us. The meme below encapsulates the very reason why Trump was elected:

Even a Romney-loving RINO like Hewitt gets it.

When you consider Marbury v. Madison occurred a mere six years into the experiment, it’s been a steady march almost from the word go.

It isn't a risk, it is a inevitability.

the Republican establishment in Washington will simply be torched by the GOP grass roots.

I believe that is more accurate. Hewitt should pay a little more attention to the mounting anger out in flyover country.

They risk losing the country, so where do they think those bribes they’ve been promised will take them then?

Or, that the respective colonial representatives were supposedly meeting in PH only to strengthen the existing articles of confederation. Instead, they came out from their secret, closed meetings with a brand new blueprint for federalized control, and the rest, as they say, is history. (Oh, and Hamilton et al scarfed up worthless colonial scrip before it was announce the new US gov't would buy them back by issuing new debt.)

Still, not to belabor the point, but it serves no purpose in being either cynical or defeatist. Rather, it's important to recognize human nature and why people in position of power act in their own self interest to preserve/expand their enrichment. C'est le vie. That's why I chide people who get upset when their fantasy version of life, including devoted public servants, ponies and unicorns confronts reality.

So too here with Trump; good story, well presented and marketed. But unless he's willing to take the hard road, there's gonna be a lot of disappointed people finally waking up to realize they actually lost their liberty a long time ago.

Well, duh, Captain Obvious ... AND perhaps needless to say if the GOP loses their base forever, the GOP goes the way of the Whigs as well ...

You got it...80 to 90 % are corrupt....

If you read Art of the Deal.....Trump says most politicians only care about themselves...

Trump is not fooled by any of them...he has been working with NYC democrats for forty years..
