GOP senators frustrated with Romney jabs at Trump
The Hill ^ | October 24, 2019 | Alexander Bolton

Sen. Mitt Romney’s (R-Utah) public battles with President Trump are taking a toll on his relationship with fellow GOP senators, with many resenting the implication that they’re afraid of standing up to the president.

Romney has replaced retired Sens. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) and Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) as the go-to senator for voicing dissension within the Senate GOP ranks when Trump finds himself in hot water.

That distinction has made Romney one of the most high-profile freshman Republican senators in recent years, but it has also fueled grumbling among his colleagues.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), one of Trump’s biggest defenders, told The Hill he’s frustrated with Romney’s regular critiques of Trump and suggested his colleague might have unresolved feelings about failing to defeat former President Obama in the 2012 presidential campaign.

“Because one election didn’t turn out the way that Mitt wanted it to turn out,” Inhofe said Wednesday, “he’s critical of the president.”

“So, I’m not pleased with it,” he added.

“Because one election didn’t turn out the way that Mitt wanted it to turn out,” Inhofe said Wednesday, “he’s critical of the president.”

Inhofe needs to get his head straight. Romney does not care that he lost in 2012!

Apparently the base in Utah missed the memo from the broader base. The base also needs to send that memo for Mike lee as well. But then again, is there really any real conservatives in Mormon dominated Utah to begin with?

Maybe. Inhofe is my Senator. He was being kind to Romney here, but you can bet he wants to kick his a$$. Inhofe is solid conservative to the core and a Trump supporter who is not frightened one bit by the media or any RINO. I’d love to hear what he has to say about Mittens behind closed doors.

Mitt Romney was elected by the people of Utah. Whether we like it or not. But! Leadership should tell him to sit down and shut up or suffer consequences.

"Pierre (meaning "Peter") Delecto" sounds like a "code" name used in intimacy between two lovers. To think that this is the moniker that a dud like Romney uses is really, really creepy. In fact, I am really embarrassed that I not only voted for him but donated money.

Yuck!

Actually, Willard Pierre’s numbers were in the negative range PRIOR to his Twitter shenanigans were made public. It’s a safe bet that they will be going down like Monica in the near future.

So does Pierre Delecto have a lover which the two used this Twitter account? Don’t know, but it is an interesting ‘name’ to use which has sexual overtones.

It’s not the establishment who determine the future of the party. It’s the voters!

Well, that's a good theory but we're about to find out if we voters really do get to decide anything or whether the uniparty just meets in secret and decides who's in charge themselves.

He doesn’t have to care what people think about him for another four, then he’ll do his hard break and become a Trump supporter.

He's a mormon bishop in Utah. He doesn't need to worry about what his voters think, he tells them what to think.

True...

Yet, as a rule,
“WE” all stand around and collectively gripe about teachers, lawyers, politicians etc and point out all the ‘bad guys’ and slugs-
then follow up with
“EXCEPT ‘my guy/gal’, best and ONLY honest lawyer, pol etc etc.

Then “WE” all sit back and wonder why the same old trash keeps showing up ‘in charge’.

The old ‘the only one that can drive in the snow is ME and the person I am talking to. Then again, I don’t think he can either’ comes into effect

Any non establishment candidate is paid off to get out of the election primary or if they stay then massive amounts of GOPe money is spent to get rid of the “problem”. I have seen it happen OVER AND OVER.

What this POS needs is a magic underwear wedgie administered at least daily. Until he’s known as PIERRE SOPRANO.

Sounds like Mittens is to Linda as Occasionally Coherent is to Pug-ugly. A freshman legislator who wants to start at the top and work their way up from there.
