Partisan political division and the resulting incivility has reached a low in America, with 67% believing that the nation is nearing civil war, according to a new national survey.
“The majority of Americans believe that we are two-thirds of the way to being on the edge of civil war. That to me is a very pessimistic place,” said Mo Elleithee, the executive director of Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service.
And worse, he said in announcing the results of the Institute’s Battleground Poll civility survey, the political division is likely to make the upcoming 2020 presidential race the nastiest in modern history.

It's also not what they said. Nobody asked how close we are. If I said that I thought we're 37.5% of the way toward civil war somebody surely would wonder how I came up with that number. Mo, apparently not.
When you can go to prison for four years for defending yourself against Antifa, changes are needed. Not sure how “civil” it will be when we start playing by their rules.
When you consider this violent society and how many millions of innocent victims are stacked upon each other over the years, you start to get the feeling that this is exactly what is coming.

Have you seen the weekly murder totals in Chicago? We aren’t on the verge, it’s going on already. We’re just in denial over the existing insurrection in most of our cities, from people killing others openly in their neighborhoods to occupations of our parks and roadways by the homeless to the possibly tens of millions of illegals in the country.
Vast amounts of people never answer to the civil authority.

I have very conservative, level headed Christian friends who I would never even suspect are conspiracy theorsits who say they see the same thing coming.
They told me this a couple years ago at least.
I had to agree with them and I still do.
Just another reason why we’re leaving NY and heading for parts more defensible and safe. And not anywhere within a several hour drive of even a moderate sized city.

These are level-headed folks, not preppers or militia types. The fear here is more the civil disorder that is already happening in our area from the homeless and wandering crazies. The police have stopped enforcing the law in a number of ways.
