White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney announced during a White House press briefing that the 2020 G7 summit will be held at Trump National in Doral, Florida, from June 10-12.
"We used the same set of criteria that previous administrations have used," Mulvaney said.
He said Doral was "far and away the best physical facility for this meeting."
President Donald Trump is sure to receive criticism and will face questions about whether he stands to profit financially from the large summit. Trump has received such criticism in the past for hosting foreign leaders, including China's President Xi Jinping, at his Mar-a-Lago golf club in Florida.

Considering Trump doesn’t take or need a salary, and his properties are all in a blind trust, why do you accuse him like a lib/dem?
Those who criticize Trump like that are typically suffering from envy. It is a more common trait among liberals.
Or Netflix?
It’s too bad you weren’t at the presser so you could have joined the sheep and made your sheepish remarks then instead of here and now.
Ah but how do you know that? Or are you, again, simply assuming?
TRUMP will let the rats go sideways on this and then Trump will say FREE ROOMS.
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion.
Mulvaney said as much.
As are you...no argument there.
G7 is a private meeting between heads of states. Contrary to the habitual knee jerk ignorance of the always whining Fake News and their Democrat Fascist Party masters, it has no official standing. The leaders can meet where ever they want.
Nobody, certainly not I, have ever denied that.
No, he didn’t. You also demonstrate you have no idea what the G7 Meeting is. So once again you simply assumed with no understanding of the facts.
No present, no gift, no title of nobility.
Yeah he did. He made some claims about Trump not making money off it but never said the government wouldn't be paying for it.
You also demonstrate you have no idea what the G7 Meeting is.
LOL! I had no idea that "G7 Meeting" means "meet somewhere and not get charged for it". Learn something new every day.
So once again you simply assumed with no understanding of the facts.
I'm not sure I'm the one doing that.
That is EXACTLY what Mulvaney said at the presser. It will be at cost - no profit - and will be 50% less than the other locations they looked at. Plus its a better setup than any other location.
Trump has said from his election that he will keep zero profits from any of his venues whenever foreign government people stay at them. I think that he is donating them to the US Treasury. You can be sure that he has been doing this already since inauguration or the media would have already been all over it.
I would love for him to bring out some charts to demonstrate how much he has put into the Treasury already.
There are so few Mick Mulvaneys out there. God bless him.
Pretty much a no-brainer as anything gov related whether state or fed will cost more whereas privately owned will be less.
But you already knew that or should have.
I just laughed when he announced this..the press was could not believe it..there such fools..
Trump is like 9.7 sprinter in the hundred yd dash
...ammunition to use against him ...

This is Trump. He _could_ play things cautious, but if he did, the progs would interpret it as fear and pile on deeper and harder.
POTUS always stays on offense. He has a reason for doing this. Could be to change the narrative du jour while other, more vital things, occur elsewhere. Could be to agitate them on the theory that an agitated enemy makes mistakes.
Seems Mulvaney was secure and confident, with a twinkle in his eye and short shrift to CNN. This is strategic. I’d bet on it.
And 99 Red Snowflakes Just Died
