White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney announced during a White House press briefing that the 2020 G7 summit will be held at Trump National in Doral, Florida, from June 10-12.
"We used the same set of criteria that previous administrations have used," Mulvaney said.
He said Doral was "far and away the best physical facility for this meeting."
President Donald Trump is sure to receive criticism and will face questions about whether he stands to profit financially from the large summit. Trump has received such criticism in the past for hosting foreign leaders, including China's President Xi Jinping, at his Mar-a-Lago golf club in Florida.

How will it cost more?
Ah but the G7 won't live rent free at the Doral.
I suppose he could invite people to stay there for free. That would really piss off the Dems.
Or he could charge a rate that ONLY covers his costs so that he makes no profit. That’s what I would do if I were him.
The claim was that it will cost less, not cost more.
The last G7 the U.S. hosted was at Camp David. I'm sure the rent there was a lot less than what the Doral will cost.
Mulvaney did great; I love it when he takes on the press.
The Trump Organization is doing it at cost - it will be 50% the cost of any other location.
Watch the presser!
They better hurry over to Trivago before someone books the last room.
Or he could charge a rate that ONLY covers his costs so that he makes no profit. Thats what I would do if I were him.
We're not him so we don't know and we'll never no.
I'd like to see that report. Taxpayer costs included.
Watch the presser! Everyone said the G* at camp David was a disaster. Not a good location.
I’ll be it would cost more at camp David too, it’s not like it would be free.
AND he’s probably doing it for free.
They'll be trying to impeach him for that next.
I asked you how will it cost more.
Took no guff, let no lies go unchallenged, and cut off "reporters" that he did not want to acknowledge.
The front row reporters that didn't get called on were indignant and will send a strong letter to the White House Press secretary.
When it was over, you could hear one front row cry baby, screaming, "I didn't called on".
I think the reporter was from cnn, but I'm not sure.
Any other location? How much did Camp David charge last time?
Whats the campaign ad going to say? “Trump hosted the G7 at his Mara Lago estate. Good deals were struck.” Not sure I see the downside.
"Trump uses his office to line his pockets". What's the upside of that?
Watch the presser.
But, it was OK for Clinton to rent out the Lincoln bedroom in the White House.
