White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney announced during a White House press briefing that the 2020 G7 summit will be held at Trump National in Doral, Florida, from June 10-12.
"We used the same set of criteria that previous administrations have used," Mulvaney said.
He said Doral was "far and away the best physical facility for this meeting."
President Donald Trump is sure to receive criticism and will face questions about whether he stands to profit financially from the large summit. Trump has received such criticism in the past for hosting foreign leaders, including China's President Xi Jinping, at his Mar-a-Lago golf club in Florida.

Ah but the G7 won't live rent free at the Doral.
I suppose he could invite people to stay there for free. That would really piss off the Dems.
Or he could charge a rate that ONLY covers his costs so that he makes no profit. That’s what I would do if I were him.
The claim was that it will cost less, not cost more.
The last G7 the U.S. hosted was at Camp David. I'm sure the rent there was a lot less than what the Doral will cost.
Mulvaney did great; I love it when he takes on the press.
The Trump Organization is doing it at cost - it will be 50% the cost of any other location.

Whats the campaign ad going to say? “Trump hosted the G7 at his Mara Lago estate. Good deals were struck.” Not sure I see the downside.
"Trump uses his office to line his pockets". What's the upside of that?
