Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer announced at a news conference outside the White House on Wednesday that they had just walked out of a meeting with President Trump on Syria policy, after he apparently called Pelosi a "third-rate politician" and angrily suggested the Democrats probably appreciated communist Islamic State terrorists in the Middle East.

You wouldn't think a third-rate politician would make Speaker of the House. On the other hand, a first-rate politician in that position certainly doesn't get trapped into an endless impeachment Kabuki dance with no impeachment, absolutely nothing in the way of legislative accomplishment to show for her term, dancing to the tune of four freshman members who haven't anything but noise between their ears and may not even make a second term. That's bush league, and nothing but Pelosi's doddering senescence can explain it.

And pray what guidance were they presuming to offer to Trump over Syria? If they want war they can declare one. If not, then just shut up.
