There's one Democrat idea that clearly has Joe Scarborough very worried about the potential harm it could do to the eventual Dem candidate: Beto O'Rourke's proposal of a mandatory "assault weapon" buyback, aka, gun confiscation.
On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough scalded the proposal as "a stupendously bad idea," calling it "radical" and likely to be found "unconstitutional." Joe fretted that O'Rourke's gun-confiscation proposal, along with his support for stripping tax-exempt status from religious groups that don't support same-sex marriage, would be "be repeated around the clock between now and next November by whoever is the Republican nominee."
And so it was that when Joe interviewed O'Rourke a bit later, he pressed him on the confiscation proposal, eventually forcing Beto to admit: In that case I think there would be a visit by law enforcement to recover that firearm and to make sure that it is purchased, bought back, so that it cannot be potentially used against somebody else.

Earlier today, I posted a simple link to part of the video. Here’s the full NewsBusters article on the subject, including video of Scarborough ripping Beto’s proposal as a “stupendously bad idea.”
The libs are obviously worried that Beto’s plan will hurt whoever the Dem candidate is.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
“recover”? HUH? Hey beto———fah-Q. You too, joe and minka.
This c*** needs to come take it himself. Coward
Are American leos eager to become jbts?
How can one "recover" something one never owned in the first place?
Because it always worked out so well when a rogue and overreaching government made criminals out of the people with a simple signing of an illegitimate document.
Just because lawmakers make a new law does not mean that law is legit and is in line with our Constitution and Bill of Rights. It just means those lawmakers need to go. They are no longer governing with the consent of the people.
Gavin, the Creep, Newsom (D)(CA Governor) is a perfect example of a very nasty elected governor who needs to be kicked to the curb with prejudice.
“Recover”? I had no idea they lost their property?
Excellent question!
2- Any efforts to force registration or ask for voluntary turn-in will have less than a 20% success rate.
3- LEOs would be very hesitant to enforce any such confiscation order. (More so after the first week of any wide spread attempts.)
by whoever is the Republican nominee.”

Joe is still pining for a Bush League Republican.
All your guns are belong to us
Some of them are......
Maybe the Jack Booted Thugs will show up in Scuba Gear.
I think that worry goes beyond harming a Democrat candidate. I think people in the cocktail circuit Scarborough and company run in KNOW that once that cap comes off of the tube of toothpaste, its game over.
Irish Bob, in a desperate attempt to stay relevant, is publically stating what people in Scarborough's cocktail circuit talk about privately, and doing so queers any attempts to set up a framework to try and prevent the reckoning Scarborough and company fear is coming.
“be repeated around the clock between now and next November by whoever is the Republican nominee.”
You mean between now and November when Beto drops out of the race.
Obviously skateboard boy would not take guns from violent criminals. Just from non-violent citizens.
There was already a story that Florida has been red flagging and confiscating guns for months now. I don’t see any ‘cold dead hands’ uprising. And don’t brush off the small scale, because Rats do not care how long it would take to accomplish their mission. Despite all the molon labe bluster, very few people have the terrain, property and resources to start an 8 year standoff.
I love Beto for this... he’s so self-absorbed in defining his niche agenda that he has no off or pause button the think about how it affects his party.
An IED will be underneath every sidewalk and driveway leading up to houses in America if the stared to roundup gun owners.
