Byron York wrote in the Washington Examiner on Saturday that Democrats are using a secret impeachment process to create a narrative that leaves out contradictory facts and prevents Republicans from presenting any real defense. York noted that Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee, chaired by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), are using the same tacit they used in 2017 to silence then-chair Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) with a phony ethics investigation. They are having witnesses testify in deposition, rather than in public or by transcription, which invokes ethics rules that prevent members from sharing any details publicly. Democrats then leak selective bits of testimony and any Republicans who dare respond risk an ethics investigation that will silence them and damage them politically.
York observed:
Fridays interview of Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, marked a new point a low point, as Republicans see it in Democratic efforts to keep impeachment information out of public view.
The Yovanovitch session was different. Democrats conducted the interview in the format of a deposition, which is different from a transcribed interview. One key difference is that there are serious penalties for lawmakers who reveal the contents of a deposition. Doing so would almost surely subject the offending member to a House ethics investigation.
Here is the clever part, from the Democratic perspective. As the Yovanovitch interview began, her 10-page opening statement quickly leaked. In it, Yovanovitch made her case for all the press to read.

Nothing transparent about the Adam Schiff hearings. It is all behind closed doors so the public cannot watch the proceedings. That way the dimoKKKRATS can control the narrative.
Star Chamber.
Unacceptable.
“Star chamber” courts were pretty much given a bad name long ago, as these institutions were used by royalty or other very powerful personages to intimidate challengers and subvert justice at every turn. Nobody can question the verdicts produced by these “star chambers”, because the proceedings and tactics used by the prosecution (usually in that absence of the defense altogether) never become public.
“The LAW is what I say it is, so shut up!”
Democrats invoking Star Chamber proceedings.
Will the average American citizens allow this to continue?
It’s not an “impeachment”- it’s an “inquisition”.
the question is — how do republicans get around on the democrats
Schiff admits he should have been ‘much more clear’ about contact with whistleblower

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., admitted on Sunday that he should have been clearer about his contact with the whistleblower who filed a complaint about President Trumps July phone call with the Ukrainian president.
I should have been much more clear, Schiff said during an interview on CBS Face The Nation.
Fox News reported earlier this month that the intelligence community whistleblower did not disclose contact with Schiffs staff to the intelligence committee inspector general (ICIG).
The sources said ICIG Michael Atkinson told lawmakers in a closed session that the whistleblower did not disclose the contact with the California Democrat’s committee and that Atkinson didnt investigate that contact as he had no knowledge of it.
Sources also told Fox News that Atkinson also revealed that the whistleblower volunteered he or she was a registered Democrat and that they had a prior working relationship with a prominent Democratic politician.
Schiffs office acknowledged earlier this month that the whistleblower had reached out to them before filing a complaint in mid-August, giving Democrats advance warning of the accusations that would lead them to launch an impeachment inquiry days later.
The source said Atkinson told lawmakers he did not know how a Schiff tweet in August and other statements about Ukraine appeared to reflect the substance of the whistleblower complaint, which was not declassified and not shared with Congress until the end of September.

The demon cat Losers have controlled the media forever- 50 years
however they do not own all the media anymore because now we have the Internet
Furthermore since the advent of Rush Limbaugh 1989 we have talk radio
So when shifty shift gets up there and does his nonsense and they think that thats all the news thats going to get out there theyre dead wrong
Depends on the definition of "average".
Author Bryon York states the process is a "...a low point, as Republicans see it".
Talk about a suggestive, obvious understatement!
He leaves out unregistered voters, independents, and Dems not wholly committed to their parties' totalitarian agenda.
He easily could have more accurately stated "...as the vast majority of American citizens see it"; one wonders why he chose not to.
Isn’t it interesting that when the facts are against the Democrats that the Republicans refuse to charge anybody with anything. On the other hand, the Democrats create a narrative and immediately their minions in the administrative state set to charging the small fry within the Republican ranks in order to cement their narrative (read: conspiracy theory) into the publics’ mind.
We’re long since past the time where the Trump administration needs to start charging, trying and jailing the numerous Democrat offenses for leaking classified information, selling influence & perjury. Only then will the Democrat coup begin to unravel.
Commies love their show trials.
I’m Shocked, Shocked that the dems play dirty.
Where’s a whistle blower when you need one? If anybody is engaging in unethical behavior it’s Adam Schiff and his demonicRAT accomplices.
Can you imagine the hissyfit Adam Schiff would throw if some whistle blower divulged what is being said and done in those secret meetings?
