California governor Gavin Newsom on Wednesday announced that he has signed a law banning hotels from providing guests with the small, disposable plastic bottles containing personal-care products such as shampoo and conditioner that are a common staple of the industry.

The ban on plastic bottles holding less than six ounces will go into effect on January 1, 2023 for hotels with more than 50 rooms, and one year after that for hotels with 50 or fewer rooms. The law allows a local agency to conduct inspections and issue citations if hotels do not comply. A first violation carries a $500 fine and a second carries a $2,000 fine...

They will simply switch to using packets instead of bottles. Just packaging.

I pick up 7-15 little empty bottles of liquor around my neighborhood on a routine basis. I’d like to see those things have a $1 a piece deposit so if I do pick up after some scumbag litterer at least I get paid and he loses out on a dollar.

Notice that he didn't ban those little plastic liquor bottles either.

Of course if that happened they would just go back to the old style bottles made of glass.

“So now we have to bring the small plastic bottle stuff from home. Idiot.”

You missed the earlier post that pointed out the reason hotels began providing the small plastic bottles is that the post-911 air travel rules prevented people from carrying their own small plastic bottles onto the airplanes, which they used to do. Most people travel with carry-on luggage to avoid the hassles of recovering your in-hold luggage at the turnstiles. Now you can’t even expect the hotels to have the convenience items you need when you arrive after traveling. It is absolutely sickening to consider how much freedom we have lost in this tyrannical brave new world we live in.

Wow!.....In a state that can’t supply reliable electricity, the governor is worried about hotel shampoo samples?

Kalifornians have gone from merely stupid to deliberately obtuse. Next stop is total insanity. Meanwhile, the fools who enabled this travesty continue to infect the rest of the country.

Where will it all end? Are the decent folks in flyover country going to just sit idly by and let them corrupt us, as well? After all, that's how the liberals took over kommiefornia (and orygone, washington, colorado) in the first place.

Commiefornians who elected this leftist psychopath as governor deserve everything that happens to them. Just wait until he demands human sacrifices to achieve CO2 reduction goals.

Other states should have involuntary commitment orders ready should this insane person ever visit their state.

This dude is daring the voters to recall him. Hubris, thy name is Newsom.

Blaming Newsom might make some sense but it would appear that he was merely ratifying an act of the California legislature.

“Excuse me, could I have some shampoo?”
“Why, certainly, Ma’am. Hold out your hand and I’ll pour you some. Come back for conditioner when you’re ready.”

The Left has descended into the absurd.

".... Save the world!!...."

Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw a while back.

"Instead of trying to save the world, how about turning your turn signal on?"

That’s EXACTY what will happen.

People will bring tiny bottles from home.
Because the TSA three-ounce liquid rule is not going away.
