We have very competent people working with us. I appreciate your willingness to help.

The tests you speak of are in the very early stages of trials. That stuff is not available to general patients these days. Even under the new provisions.

The latest chemo treatment is showing great promise. It’s only been in use for about a year.

Well, that’s sad. Bernie should leave the race for his own sake and his family’s.

Actually it is. It’s a form of a B vitamin and I and my wife have been taking it for a year and a half.

It’s harmless.

We each take 300 mg a day (two capsules), but 450 mg a day is close to what the South American study used as an equivalent.

The cofactors in this formula, along with the original sourced form of nicotinamide riboside, are what I would suggest (from Amazon):

Thorne Research - ResveraCel - Nicotinamide Riboside (Niagen) with Resveratrol and Cofactors in One Capsule - Supports Healthy Aging - 60 Capsules

We only took this form for the first few months, but then got a subscription for Tru Niagen, which was cheaper (but doesn’t have the cofactors that further help with absorption, according to other studies). However, the original study was done without the cofactors.

Amen. I lost my husband exactly 1 month ago today. The love of my life. 10 days later I was back at work. I had to. Not so much because of money, I have a ton of leave. But I need the distraction, I need to to focus beyond my self, to connect with my family and friends. I can’t do that sitting at home bemoaning my fate

I’d heard too many CT scans can harm you by raising the risk of cancer.

Otherwise, as a survivor myself, I’d sign up for scans every year.

I am very interested in this. Is it a full body scan? How do you go through getting it scheduled? This is cheap insurance if you can do it.

I am truly sorry.

The pain of losing someone like that is just brutal.

And you need your friends and family the most now.

I have had losses. Hard losses.

And I empathize with you and will pray for you.

It never goes away but it does get less hard as time goes by.

it is good that you are back to work. The BEST thing by far.

If I was there I would give you a hug :(

Instead I will give prayers

You cant do Ct scans every year at a young age because of radiation. You can do ultrasounds and MRI

They advertise it here as “lung cancer” screening but it covers the entire torso. The radiation is 1/10 power of a normal CT but good enough to see if anything major is happening. So it takes 10 years to get the radiation of one high powered CT scan. $200.00, not bad.

That is good for BIG stuff. In a lot of instances, the tumors in the pancreas and other endocrine cancers, the damn things are tough to find. You should have seen the tests my wife went through...they “knew it was there” but it took full abdominal surgery to find the little bugger.

I DO agree with you that a low scale scan should be on everyone’s list, especially for cardiac and lung issues. Finding the blockages early are a lot easier to fix. ( I must be getting soft in my old age, if We are agreeing on something.)

Hang in there, Gracie.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I fear for when my wife will be in the same situation in the future.

May God bless and guide you through this time. Do keep active and social. Stay connected to others however you can.

Including here. :-)
