SHREVEPORT, La. -- The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear an appeal by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in their fight to keep the Confederate monument on the Caddo Parish Courthouse grounds.
Said spokeswoman Jackie Nichols: "Our petition was denied today by the Supreme Court. Although we are disappointed by this news, we are not dissuaded in our fight to protect our monument. We fight on!"
The denial of the writ upholds the previous decision of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, which affirmed the trial courts ruling in favor of the Parish, dismissing the lawsuit.
The parish is pleased that we have additional confirmation that we have the right to decide whether the Confederate monument can remain on the Courthouse grounds, said Donna Frazier, parish attorney.

They won’t hear the greviances of normal American people but they’ll hear greviances of perverts.
Bttt
Well, there goes all of our historical civil war monuments. This case will now be used as precedent for all future cases.
Those who hide from History in their Safe Space are doomed to repeat it.
It’s time to go after Union monuments. I find them offensive to my Confederate heritage.
Many twenty something Japanese have no knowledge of their country’s crimes against the Korean people during WWII. Their textbooks were scrubbed clean of all the horrors. The government punished those that talked about it. That was in 1998. Might be different now. But I doubt it.
Yeah, rhetorical question.
It won't be just civil war monuments .... the floodgates are now open to remove any monument the progressive left libtards find offensive.
They're going to go after Washinton, Jefferson, Lincoln, everyone.
States rights issue?
Better yet, take down that monstrosity MLK monument in DC. I find it offensive.
Yes, and with a Democrat victory in 2020, all the Civil War monuments will be removed from national park and national monument sites.
So Kavanaugh and Gorsuch have not been enough to alter the court; no surprise.
Your Confederate heritage offends me. My people served in The Army of The Potomac. You lost Reb, get over it. I’m an American. What are you?
How many people did MLK enslave?
What States rights? Those went away in 1865.
They wont hear the greviances of normal American people
They heard their grievances. They simply ignored them.
Bit of a difference there.

In this case, perhaps so. However, the statue of Robert E. Lee that was removed from display in New Orleans was on the National Register of Historic Places - protected by a federal law passed in the 1960s.
Another case of selective enforcement, I guess.
I’m certainly not psychotic, unlike you. The United States recognized all veterans of the Civil War as being legitimate combatants. Why can’t you? Get over it! Better yet, learn some history.
People who support the removal of these monuments should not act surprised when statues, monuments, and references to others from history, such as the founders and framers, are removed. You do not truly understand the Left or why they are pushing for this if you join them on this cause.
