A senior Trump administration official told Fox News late Tuesday that the administration will release a document showing the intelligence community inspector general found the whistleblower who leveled an explosive accusation against President Trump concerning his talks with Ukraine had “political bias” in favor of “a rival candidate” of the president.
The official did not identify the name of the rival candidate. Separately, a senior administration official told Fox News the White House has been working as quickly as it can to release to Congress the whistleblower complaint involving President Trump's conversations with the leader of Ukraine, as long as it's legally possible.
The news came just hours after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi initiated a formal impeachment inquiry by alleging that the administration was hiding the complaint.

Identify this person. Not having heard the conversation directly, he or she only heard about it from another source.
There is no whistle blower, only a partisan hack with an axe to grind and so there should be no “whistle blower” protection given.
The media will just sweep it aside and move on to the next thing on their list.

He doesn’t qualify for whistle blower protection anyway. He has no direct knowledge. And the statute only authorizes protection against the agency not the President.
One of the publications I read is Bloomberg. Virtually every article on the opinion page today is about how the Dems have Trump cold on impeachment.
It was preposterous to allow a second hand “whistle blower “ partisan to cause all this trouble.

Whistle blowers rules should not protect liars.

If the fake whistleblower's name is outed in a way that could plausibly be pinned on Trump that will be the next fake impeachable offense and the next "crisis that shakes the foundation of the republic to it's core." of the week.
Let the nameless snake remain nameless and speak through a Clinton lackey lawyer until they can't bear to be missing out on their fifteen minutes of fame and the possibility of being a leftist folk hero by bringing down the bad orange man.
Or.... there is no real ‘whistleblower’.
