Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell accused House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of politicizing a whistleblower complaint involving President Trumps phone call this summer with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.
McConnell said senators on the Intelligence Committee are seeking a closed-door briefing on the matter.
Ive been disappointed to see our colleague, the Democratic leader, choose to politicize the committees ongoing efforts with respect to a recent whistleblower allegation, the specific subject of which is still unknown, McConnell said.
McConnell criticized Schiff for public comments about the allegation and his plan to publicly grill the acting director of national intelligence, Joseph Maguire, about the matter this week.
McConnell said the Senate Intelligence panel is working to get Maguire to talk to the panel in a classified session, out of the politicized public spotlight.

This does not smell right.
Mitch seems to be playing this right.
Open session. Not closed. Open.
Mitch is holding a ‘royal flush’ in his hand, and trying hard not to grin. The whistleblower complaint probably won’t be more than 60 lines of information. The tragic thing about this...the whistleblower...is not the guy who was sitting in the room when the actual phonecall occurred. So he’s a second-hand source of info, and is disqualified from the IG complaint (the letter of the law fell into play).
So the closed door Senate episode will ask the IG why he didn’t go to the primary source, and his comment will be....that guy didn’t report anything or complain about anything. You can’t force a guy to complain.
So they will attempt to drag this guy into the room, and ask him for info, and he’ll say....well, he’s got nothing to report. Then he’ll say something about money-laundering being illegal and ask the Senators if they think it’s illegal. The meeting will end at that point.
I believe the “whistle blower” is no whistle blower, but a member of the intelligence community who spied on President Trump by illegally monitoring his phone calls and leaking misinformation to the media. Whoever this is will be discovered and should be tried for treason as well as those who coordinated it. The so-called whistle blower has only second-hand knowledge leaked by the real culprit.
There BETTER be some JUSTICE DEPT. BIGWIG looking into Joe and Hunter Biden!! Hello Bill Barr!
“I believe the whistle blower is no whistle blower, but a member of the intelligence community who spied on President Trump by illegally monitoring his phone calls and leaking misinformation to the media.”
I believe the whistle blower is someone at CNN who spoke with John Bolton after his firing. It’s revenge for Trump canning him.
Closed is better. The conversation was between two Presidents. No one will ever talk to us again.
No doubt Burr will get on this ASAP. Probably subpoena Don Jr. again about this instead of Biden Jr.
Somebody on Bolton’s staff or the Embassy in Kiev. Probably not Bolton himself.
So I'm waiting for them to appoint a Second Special Council.
Brennan or Clapper?
Yeah, sounds about true to form...
I’ve scratchin my head about this. If they do have an investigation as to the spy, they are sure tight-lipped about it.
I believe you are on to something. Bolton could become a loose cannon. If true, I hope he gets it under control before he rolls off the deck.
Brennan, Clapper or, maybe, John Bolton.
Then they both should be prosecuted, this isn't whistleblowing, this is blowing TDS out your rear end.
