This does not smell right.
Mitch is holding a ‘royal flush’ in his hand, and trying hard not to grin. The whistleblower complaint probably won’t be more than 60 lines of information. The tragic thing about this...the whistleblower...is not the guy who was sitting in the room when the actual phonecall occurred. So he’s a second-hand source of info, and is disqualified from the IG complaint (the letter of the law fell into play).
So the closed door Senate episode will ask the IG why he didn’t go to the primary source, and his comment will be....that guy didn’t report anything or complain about anything. You can’t force a guy to complain.
So they will attempt to drag this guy into the room, and ask him for info, and he’ll say....well, he’s got nothing to report. Then he’ll say something about money-laundering being illegal and ask the Senators if they think it’s illegal. The meeting will end at that point.
