Mayor Pete Buttigieg expressed his dissatisfaction with the concept of carrying a gun after serving in Afghanistan.
Over time, I realized having a gun made me feel smaller, not bigger, he said during a conversation about guns with a BuzzFeed reporter as part of his bus tour in Iowa.
The mayor was asked about his feelings on guns as a veteran who served in Afghanistan in the Navy Reserves but apparently did not engage in combat.
Earlier in September, Buttigieg criticized men who had their sense of manhood wrapped up in owning a gun.
[I]f it gets to where your sense of manhood is wrapped up in owning a gun, I think thats where our culture is on the wrong track, Buttigieg said in an interview with TMZ Live.

Short Peter?
You might be right.
Finally an issue small enough for Butty-boy to get his head around.
And he can't even a good grip on that!
Exactly, it’s got nothing to do with feeling anything.
It’s about protecting your ass... which, err, he apparently decides to leave, uhh, unprotected, clearly...
“Pete is small”
His “partner” is not necessarily displeased.
“Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, Herr Buttigieg.”
Exactly.
“”veteran who served in Afghanistan in the Navy Reserves””
This may show my ignorance but I have no idea what Navy Reserve personnel would do in Afghanistan.
Have to wonder why he joined the Reserve in the first place. I wonder why we haven’t heard from anyone he served with. I can’t imagine he would have been very popular..
I’m full of “wondering” every day...
In today’s world, it may be called;
“Go Ask Alexa”.
Butt, you ARE small, and in the long run, insignificant, little Petey “Dunning-Kruger” Buttgag...Stick to what you already can’t handle like mismanaging a small city, and leave running the USA to someone who can clearly handle the task, like DJT...MAGA!
Has nothing to do with a gun, Jackass...
being able to help defend against goverment tyranny does make me feel a more complete man, rather than servant.
sense of manhood wrapped up in owning a gun.
I’m a women who believes a gun could be important tool in my life. So do most of the things I have in my toolboxes, my sewing room, shed, kitchen and a chunk of my basement.
He’s a misogynist!!!!!
Gun control, Climate Change, emotional ploys in an attempt to welcome in government control.
G-d d@mn Sigmund Freud to hell, forever. Seriously. That freak is responsible for half of the societal ills we suffer today.
Safer, it makes me feel safer.
Ask anyone who’s been around someone with one when they didnt have one.
That’s cause you are smaller, dork.
If it gets to where your sense of manhood is wrapped up in Not owning a gun, I think thats where your counterculture is on the wrong track said higgmeister!
Is this why Bootyplug and Bittshine Beto are obsessed with GRABBING THEM?
...says the guy who thinks he knows what real manhood means.
Yes, this is my rifle and this is my “gun”..... and since i’m a “catcher in the raw” in the first place, my only concern is the “calibre” of the “gun” in use for “stimulation”.
Pete hasn’t the “vagus” idea of anything else— him being “Veteran” and everything, point of the spear and such (NOT!).
so he has guns protecting him how small must he be?
