Ted Cruz endorses a GOP Senate candidate in New Hampshire, and it’s not Corey Lewandowski

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) weighed in Thursday on the Republican Senate primary in New Hampshire, endorsing a candidate other than President Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who Trump has said would make “a great senator.”

Cruz threw his support behind former New Hampshire House speaker Bill O’Brien on a call into a Boston-based radio show, saying he is “a principled conservative” who “knows how to produce results.”

“Bill O’Brien has backbone. He is willing to stand up and do the right thing,” Cruz told conservative host Jeff Kuhner on WRKO AM 680. “I think he would make a phenomenal senator from New Hampshire.”

Cruz’s endorsement came two days after Lewandowski’s combative appearance before the House Judiciary Committee, which served to bolster his national profile — and highlight his fierce loyalty to Trump — ahead of an expected announcement next month about a Senate run.

Timing looks suspicious. Is Ted still mad about 2016?

The President won in NH. If Lewinski can’t win, it’s his own fault, he’s not tryin hard enough.

Yes and no. He won if only the votes of people living in NH were counted, but, back then, they allowed students from Massachusetts to be bused in to vote there. That put Hillary over the top (and also cost us a Senate seat).

I’m not sure you can even say he won a district. The New Hampshire house has 400 members from 204 districts, each of which has between 1 and 11 members (inclusive).

(I knew some of this, I looked the rest up on Wiki)

IIRC the New Hampshire House is the third biggest deliberative body in the world, behind the U.S. House and the House of Commons.

Hot air has long been harnessed by skinflint Yankees as a form of green energy.

Cruz always throws a monkey wrench at the worst possible time.
He should move back to Canada.
Is Corey a hard core conservative?
No.
Would he vote for Trump Judicial nominees including the Supreme Court?
Yes.

That’s enough for me.

Then maybe Corey should actually run instead of hemming and hawing about it.

Backstabbing Trump? Cruz needs to get back and stay in Texas. Stop messing with Trump’s loyal team, including Cory. Shame on him.

No surprise. O’Brien was Cruz’s NH rep in 2016. Cruz has to endorse O’Brien just as surely as Trump has to endorse Lewandowski. Gotta support the people who backed you.

Wasn't it Trump who pushed Cruz past Beto last year?

Big difference between Trump and Corey, and Cruz and his NH rep nobody cares about.

And Cruz will certainly return the favor by endorsing Trump in 2020, giving those of his supporters who are on the fence a reason to vote Trump.

““a principled conservative” who “knows how to produce results.”

Translated means “He will do what we tell him to do”.
