Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers and Democratic lawmakers are introducing a "red flag" bill that would allow judges to seize guns from someone determined to be a threat.
Evers unveiled the proposal Thursday. It comes after the governor and fellow Democrats introduced a universal background check bill in August. The proposals come in the wake of several mass shootings across the country.

WTH Wisconsin?
Ping.
“Determined” how? “Determined” by who?
Good. I want to rat out my ex. j/k
Gladys Kravitz, in most cases.
If the officials in regulatory power decide because you voted for the opposing party in the last election you must be mentally ill, how does that get stopped?
“We noticed on your grocery store buyers club card a lot of red meat purchases. You’ve been reported to the federal government as mentally ill because you’re not vegan” How does this get stopped?
“You signed a petition to side with there is no such thing as anthropogenic climate change. You must be mentally ill and have been reported to the ATF.” How does this get stopped?
Exactly! Let’s see the operational definition of how “they” make that determination. It seems to me to be an assumption of guilt before the fact.
Good question. If it’s CA or CO, any geek on the street can denounce you to the po-po as a threat to others, and can do it anonymously. Rampant abuse guaranteed.
Originally, only a family member living under the same roof had standing to report you to police as a threat.
No psychiatric evaluation, no nothing; po-po goes to judge who issues warrant and your guns are gone and you spend the rest of your assets & life trying to prove you’re not crazy.
Orwell’s totalitarian nightmare is advancing on us, and quickly, along with the Thought Police.
I went to the news site. Republican controlled legislature means Red Flag bill DOA. Purely symbolic.
My own city just passed Red Flag. My state has a preemption law against such local shenanigans. But the s*** goes on.
“Confiscation is a tide that is always coming in.”
Determined by the State Commissar for Determinations of Mental Stability. His name is Mohammed Abdullah big Jihad. Perhaps you've heard of him?
[[Confiscation is a tide that is always coming in.]]
And that is why we must not ever give in- for when we do- it undermines the storm wall that is keeping out the tides of confiscation, and the floods will pour in
He cant get it through via legislation but I wonder if he can do some things administratively? DNR curbing ammo sales over bogus lead concerns?
Republicans need to check him here.
Desperation knows no limits.
This will die in our Republican held House and Assembly. It’s just more ‘feel-good, do-nothing’ BS from ‘One And Done’ Evers. Introduce, ‘Free Slurpees for All’ on Tuesdays.’ Same effect. ;)
Did you read that WI Senate Leader Fitzgerald will campaign for Sensenbrenner’s Senate seat? Yay!
It most likely will end up being a crowded field, though.
“WTH Wisconsin?”
Probably won’t go over too well in a state that has about 40 fully manned infantry divisions of deer hunters. Evers wants to do away with AR’s too.
Whatever they decide the definition is, it will evolve as black robed thugs expands or clarifies the definition, count on it.
So, a mental health professional that believes homosexuality is not a mental disorder is going to be the judge of “who” has a second amendment right?
Did you read that WI Senate Leader Fitzgerald will campaign for Sensenbrenners Senate seat? Yay!
Di; The opening is a Congressional seat not Senate.
Suppose a 15 year old boy in high school had a fantasy about murdering children that he wrote and posted on the Internet. Should he be flagged and stopped from ever buying guns by a red flag law?
Here is the fantasy about murdering children that Robert Francis "Bebo" O'Rourke wrote and posted on the Internet when he was 15.
Here is another of Robert Francis “Psychedelic Warlord” O’Rourke’s written works:
