AN FRANCISCO A California appeals court has ruled that a transgender man can sue a Catholic hospital for cancelling his hysterectomy.
The Sacramento Bee reports Wednesday that the decision by the 1st District Court of Appeal overturns a lower court ruling dismissing the discrimination lawsuit.
Evan Minton sued Mercy San Juan Medical Center when it canceled his scheduled hysterectomy after he mentioned to a pre-op nurse two days before surgery that he is transgender.

If she needs a hysterectomy, she is a she.
We have to stop accommodating delusions.

An insane California appeals court has ruled that a mentally ill woman can sue a Catholic hospital for canceling her completely elective and medically unnecessary hysterectomy.

Should’a just chopped him up and charged him...I’m sure his insurance wouldn’t have paid the claim for an operation on a non-existing organ!

Why did they make this statement?
“Dignity Health told the newspaper that its Catholic facilities do not provide elective sterilizations.

It's an insane woman demanding to have her lady-parts mutilated. You can, I hope, understand why a CATHOLIC hospital would refuse to do such a thing.

I would have thought that a hysterectomy would be a normal component of gender reassignment surgery voluntary mutilation of one's body?

I stopped trying to keep track. I don’t know what a transgender man is, nor do I care. All I know is it is confused.

Probably because this person is biologically a woman-and most Catholic hospitals/clinics really don’t perform unnecessary sterilizations-this “transgender man is just a mentally ill woman who should be getting psychotherapy-not a hysterectomy to reinforce her delusions...

They should have replied saying: “we need legal clarification if the patient is indeed a man or a woman.”
Let the public fireworks ensue.

Good way to shut down all of the Catholic hospitals. Too bad that includes many or most of the good hospitals in the U.S.

Because of this man’s mental illness, the Hospital was faced with two decisions:
1. Pretend to perform the surgery on a man, they would have been vilified as enabling mental illness, being frivolous with hospital resources, delay actual women from having the surgery, probably getting no compensation from an insurance provider, and getting sued by the mentally ill patient - ultimately paying out millions of dollars in settlement.
-or-
2. Refuse to perform the surgery and have crowds of LGBTQWXYZ protesting in front of the quickly assembled national media, employees being doxxed, surgical staff being harassed as intolerant monsters, and getting sued by the mentally ill patient - ultimately paying out millions in settlement.
See, an easy decision. . .
