The US has told at least one US ally in the Middle East, that they have intelligence showing that the launch was likely coming from staging grounds in Iran, but they have not shared that intelligence yet. It is one thing to tell us, it is another thing to show us, said a diplomat from the region.
A US official separately tells CNN that the US has assessed that the attack originated from inside Iran. The official spoke on condition of anonymity.
No public evidence has been shared.
What countries in the region decide to do, in reaction to the Saudi oil field attack, largely depends on what the US is willing to do, the source said. CNN reported earlier that Secretary of State is expected to speak with the UAE Crown Prince on Monday and other nations.
The Pentagon declined to comment. The State Department and the White House did not respond to a request for comment.
The WSJ first reported that the US was telling countries region that the attacks were launched inside Iran.

I am sure there are lots of discussion going on at this moment. If for nothing else, deconfliction between ‘friendly’ parties.
Precise delivery of munitions like this, possibly under the radar, represents a significant capability on Iran’s part and no doubt the Israelis are concerned, probably more so than the Saudis.
We almost certainly saw the launches. I wonder what notices we provided to our ‘allies’ in the region, given that the final targets probably could not be determined until the targets were actually struck.
Iran is never going to be anything but are enemy so long as we support Israel or do business with the Saudis.
I dont see how that happens unless the U.S. government owns the pipelines and/or the oil.
Personally, I dont think Trump wants to be in the total lead in attacking Iran militarily, unless they directly attack US military bases, ships, etc
I’d bet he’s more worried about muzzie cells retaliating on American soil.
Ooops, wrong war.
VERY precise hits. Makes me think those things were drone hits. Relatively-small punctures.
So.... why do we care? Let the Kingdom fight its own war.
[Id bet hes more worried about muzzie cells retaliating on American soil.]
Valid concern. It will also guarantee the re-election of the President. Which I pray happens anyways (his re-election).
We are (finally) energy independent, and should react accordingly. This Trump Dividend allows us to stand back and let the Arabs handle this.
Protect Israel. But other than that, stand down.
I dunno...seems to me Iran has poked it's finger in our eye for decades and never had any answer for their crap.
I wouldn't be hurt to see their navy gurgling from the bottom of their ports and their air force smoldering on the runway.
This type of strike represent very good mission planning. Precise knowledge of target location, maybe a GPS guidance or even a visual terminal guidance. Again, its a capability that we have not seen from Iran before.
Would this be done by the CIA? Hmmmmm.
[Yep all capabilities will not be publishED.]
(took busy making late lunch - tacos, taco salad - mostly taco salad.
Ground beef (best price was $2.59/lb this week), a little jalapeno, a green bell pepper, a couple of huge Serrano peppers, yellow onion, Pace picante, garlic salt, pepper, onion powder, salt, paprika and about 6 packets of Taco Bell sauce drained in, 3lbs of that 80/20 and a can of chili beans. And a couple of small cans of Tomato sauce. Just a bit of ketchup to even it all out. Cooked for about an hour (about 40 minutes after the initial grease drain).
Didn’t have any shredded cheese but melted a big block of Velveeta ($2.99 close-out - they usually retail $6.99 to $7.99 around here). Added in some Rotel with green chilies (a bit went into the taco meat).
Nice chips and some lettuce. Burp.
True. but I think a cruise missile would have torn down a whole side of a tank. 600lb to 1,000lb warheads at least.
All from the same angle (at least 4 of those tanks). Have to go look again.
That would have been my take as well, but I don’t know what they were carrying. And what they did was sufficient to shut down production so maybe that’s all they expected to do. If I recall a harpoon missile warhead was only about 100 lbs (or was it kilos?) but that could sink a ship. Bunker busters did all the damage inside the bunker but only left a clean hole outside. In 91, it took flight crews working with analysts initially to see that bunker buster strike had been successful. Initially they only saw the penetration hole and thought they needed to go back and hit again. Meanwhile, the inside the bunker was ruble-ized.
“Please stop posting your taqiya drivel to me.”
You don’t even know what the word means.
The woman’s country was conquered. She wanted it free. I could care less if she lied. Prove the incubators weren’t taken to Baghdad. Even Amnesty International confirmed it.
Are we counting lies? Let’s then start with the aggressor’s lies. Saddam acted first against Kuwait. No, you won’t consider that. Saddam’s lies were OK to you. You aren’t anti-Ba’athist you’re anti-American. And you’ve done NOTHING about anything.
Your anti-American hypocrisy is repulsive. Canada has freed NO ONE from ANYTHING!
You’re still a Subject. Remember that. Not free yourself makes you a piss poor commentator on the freedom of others.
I have. In New Mexico.
It is heavily defended.
But it is in range, full of stuff that blows up, and a discrete target in the middle of the ocean.
There is only so much one can do to defend it.
2. Some of your comments might be relevant if I was a Canadian, but Im not ... so I have no idea what youre babbling about.

But if someone is trying to get us in a world war with Russia, by making it look like it was them helping Iran, then the deepstate mil-ind complex & associated fellow travelers get what they wanted.
