Any thoughts on decade anniversary of Free Republic patriot DC march Sept 12, 2009?

Where have all devoted US countrymen gone?

Is our republic and state of affairs better or worse off then ten years ago when nearly a million Patriots gathered in DC?

We’re still out here.

We did get Trump elected, but we are failing to replace the Bush League Republicans in Congress.

Re-electing amnesty Senators like Rubio and Grahamnesty is not helping our cause.

Truly.. just here on FR things have turned leftwards. Support for trump’s bumpstock ban. Some agreement for his red flag rules and silence on the details of the gun control package Pence says was sent to comgress. Scary times.
Less rational thought than we had when I started. No gentleman’s agree to disagree any longer.

IMHO, the important date to remember was October 31, 1998 when 5,000 Freeper patriots stood against the oncoming tide of the modern-day redcoats...
(Back when "red"=="communist" instead of voting districts.)

I was there a decade earlier, at the White House with the D.C. Chapter (have the button to prove it), and the Second Amendment Sisters.

I agree with the posters below, maybe we've become complacent now that Trump is president, but look what that same complacency got us after GW Bush.

I was there...well, we got eight years of Obama.

Now we got Trump, so...we’re better off, but this may only last a short while or until 2024 at best.

Like other posters have said, the cancer that is moderate Republicans still eats at us.

We know the danger from the Leftists. They will stab us in the chest. The “Moderate Republicans” will stab us in the back.

As long as there are people who think that finding common ground with evil is not in itself evil, we are going to have our national necks on a block.

i was there for the march and the FR convention that same weekend over in arlington, where colonel alan west gave a rousing keynote address.

2020 is a key year indeed. depending on the results, we may conducting the 2022 10th anniversary celebration from our foxholes.

“We know the danger from the Leftists. They will stab us in the chest. The “Moderate Republicans” will stab us in the back.”

I hear ya. It’s been said countless times. I tend to look for root causes. So why are there these “moderate Republicans” that stab us in the back? I believe there are RINO politicians because there are RINO voters. Just blaming the RINO politicians is insufficient.

I think most people out there just get on with their lives and don’t care for politicians at either end of the political spectrum.

Until we get conservative politicians that can articulate and persuade well and reach these people and build up our numbers we will be stuck in this malaise.

I am enthusiastic for the days when we return to the streets in massive numbers.

I’ll always be a protester at heart. It’s a shame that we conservatives leave so much power on the table year after year without claiming it.

Right. Conservative values win. They just have to be expressed in the right way, rather than allowing leftists to tell people what conservatism is.

I was there for the convention and march, thankfully before walking became difficult. The highlights: scaring the lefties with nearly a million marching, meeting Jim and Allen West, having breakfast with Andrew Wilkow, and the dinner with all the great speeches.

That was probably our best hour. Hanging out at Walter Reed with the weekly warriors was the highlight of the trip. We’re still here, but we aren’t as involved. We are getting older.

The Rinos copted the Tea Party movement which killed it as an independent movement. But more people have woken up and they realize that it’s a uniparty and even though we can get some good people in congress and remove a communist from the WH, the leftist/statist bureaucracy and police state remains entrenched and worse than ever.

I think we have to look at civil disobedience as a means of resisting federal tyranny. Jury nullification, defending 2A, exposing media lies, questioning government narratives, gaining a deeper understanding of history and our constiional rights.

The mostly friendly jousting on this forum helps sharpen our analytical and crtical thinking skills. Skills we can use talking to people everyday on a variety of subjects.
