Not surprising.
He made it a full year longer than I expected.
I’ll bet Bolton screwed up the Taliban meeting, somehow.
From what I’ve heard in the last few weeks it looks like Bolton wasn’t on board with DJT on too many things. Meaning that this is not a surprise.
..I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.
Meanwhile, at NR:
Why We Need John Bolton

Blowback from Taliban kerfuffle?
I never did like that cheesy stache.
It will be very interesting to see who replaces him. No names come quickly to my mind.
Now maybe President Trump can begin the process of bringing the troops home where their families are awaiting them.
We can hope.
Dang. Bolton didn’t even get to destroy any countries. You know he’s pissed.
Probably not a big surprise. Actually like some of Bolton’s positions, but in general he has always been a bit too much of a warhawk, and we really need to be a lot better about picking and choosing our battles, rather than intervening everywhere. Other Freepers guesses about NK are probably the trigger on this - the Taliban thing might be a factor as well but Bolton has been more conspicuous on the NK issue.
Msybe some more of our troops will make it home now.
Woof!
Curious that he didn’t give him a chance to “resign”. I wonder if there is more explanation to come.
I’ve got a feeling that Jared and Ivanka are behind all this “ let’s hold hands with our enemies” BS. I always thought that Bolton had it right with dealing with strategic adversaries. I know that is not in vogue in the “new” conservative views, but that’s how I feel and I respect other views as well.
Who is Kim’s next bad cop?
Democrats now love Bolton
