Walmart is set to end sales of handguns in Alaska and will discontinue the sale of short-barrel rifle and handgun ammunition in stores nationwide, the super chain's president and CEO announced Tuesday afternoon.

Local gun shops will appreciate my business. Wal-Mart, not so much.

Yep. They just don’t provide value much of the time now. They will be eaten alive over time by smaller and more nimble competitors like Aldi and online ordering from same day delivery local warehouses (Amazon, etc.)

I hate them, too. Problem is our boycotts don’t work. There are always a lot more bad, stupid and inferior people than FReepers. Ancient times had thousands for every prophet telling them to stop their evil.

Only one thing, if Wal Mart is crushed and gone where will we go for Wal Mart people videos of two overweight women slapping, punching and wrestling each other, knocking the merchandise onto the floor and overturning store displays? Maybe the trailer park driveways for some hair pulling and shouting of profanties. Still, they will be missed for the low class wrestling matches.

I heard the teaser, for this, while driving and listening to FNC....I was in hopes that Walmart’s ‘big news on handguns’ would’ve been that they were encouraging more customers to legally open, or conceal carry.

This is their wimpy announcement?

Glad I didn’t include Walmart on my shopping stops, today.

Will be removing their app, from my phone, and no longer shopping there :(

“In that case, just end most, if not all of your WalMart shopping and buying. That will hurt them more than you realize.”

Get rid of ammo sales and Walmart shuts its doors. There is a bigger line for buying ammo at my Walmart than there is sales of everything else.

Boycotts aren’t working because ALL retail companies have been infested by Leftists with business degrees.

I can quit shopping at Walmart but the next alternative is Target. They are still worse IMHO. Kmart is gone, I believe their closest store is 65 miles away. Order from Amazon and you’re supporting Jeff Bezos and his anti-Trump crusade at the WaPo.

Hate to admit this but they’ve got us surrounded.

That statement came from the CEO, who is apparently a gun owner that grew up bird hunting. However.....FoxNews, diving into the gutter with the rest of the MSM, is a bit misleading in their article.

https://www.businessinsider.de/walmart-bans-open-carry-guns-stops-selling-some-ammunition-2019-9?fbclid=IwAR3LX-_LgChJgTm4NMIWOEA-BKpdVZnpyNmNF6kxH_WwfTlryY46RWUO-JA&r=US&IR=T

Walmart will bar shoppers from openly carrying guns in its stores and stop selling some ammunition in response to 2 deadly shootings

Anywho...

“After selling through our current inventory commitments, we will discontinue sales of short-barrel rifle ammunition such as the .223 caliber and 5.56 caliber that, while commonly used in some hunting rifles, can also be used in large capacity clips on military-style weapons,” Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said in a memo to employees on Tuesday......not sure what “short barrel ammunition” is, either. For a gun owner and hunter, I would hope that he knows the difference between, caliber and milimeters, obviously not. And I thought that what went into rifles, like the AR15, were magazines, not clips.

McMillon previously said Walmart was responsible for 2% of firearm sales in the US and 20% of ammunition sales. Walmart expects its share of ammunition sales to drop to between 6 and 9% as a result of the newly announced changes.....20%, that’s a lot. Hopefully, ammunition sales will drop about 20%.

Interestingly, neither of the incidents he brings, that brought them to this decision had anything to do with them selling ammo or guns. ElPaso was nothing more than a False Flag and Mississippi was an employee being pissed off at some co-workers. But, they’ll use anything to justify their actions and no one will question them.

I sometimes wonder if the government isn’t happy these corporations are trying to destroy our rights, free speech and gun rights.

Facebook, Google, Walmart...

WHEN I hear the “gun control” conversation I END it by asking a few questions based on the following data:

Alcohol-Related Deaths:
•An estimated 88,0008 people (approximately 62,000 men and 26,000 women8) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making alcohol the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States. The first is tobacco, and the second is poor diet and physical inactivity.
•In 2014, alcohol-impaired driving fatalities accounted for 9,967 deaths (31 percent of overall driving fatalities).

Economic Burden:
•In 2010, alcohol misuse cost the United States $249.0 billion.
•Three-quarters of the total cost of alcohol misuse is related to binge drinking.

GUN Related Deaths
The CDC’s Wonder database shows that in 2017, 39,773 people in the US lost their lives at the point of a gun.
60%(22,063)are by SUICIDE. 15,910 are shootings.

88,000 people die by alcohol.
16,000 people die by a shooting not self inflicted.

I simply ask:

With 5X MORE Americans dying because of alcohol rather than guns where is the outcry to ban and confiscate alcohol? Alcohol abuse costs the US $250,000,000,000 a year. What else could that money be used for besides the damage caused by alcohol?

The response: CRICKETS. I then say a bottle of booze and a loaded gun are equally harmless sitting by themselves OR in the hand of a responsible adult. The problem always comes down to WHO is handling them.

looking at your receipt at the door....

Yeah, that’s one that bothers me.

I wonder how many people of a certain type* and a certain temperament will get angry at that pushy authoritative arrogance at the door. I keep my temper in check but my wife then has to hear the grumbling in the parking lot from her grumpy husband.

* certain type are the Finns who might challenge them to a log rolling contest. Just sayin’.

If it (ammo) is all that bad, WHY are they waiting until the stock runs out?

If not going to sell, CEASE ALL SALES NOW!

Show some ‘conviction’ in your argument.

As to Aldi and ‘no carry’, don’t forget, it is called CONCEALED CARRY for a reason.

NO store etal will EVER know I am armed unless I am wanded or searched.

That said, if ‘they’ EVER find out that I am breaking policy, I will be getting a lot of thanks and attaboys as the ONLY reason I would ever draw is to stop an immediate threat that has basically started.

You may be on to something. It is always a struggle to even find an associate to open the ammo case and get you the ammo you want to buy. I would say Walmart is setting the stage for a highly self service department store in the future to avoid paying the $15.00 an hour minimum wage.

We’re kind of running out of places to shop though.

That's the idea. Dems: "Infringe on the 2nd Amendment? Who, us?"

Soon: Bigger background check than to become a Secret Service agent. Have to prove you never registered as a Republican and never joined the NRA.

Will have to prove you are in safe possession of each registered firearms and all ammo purchased. Stand in long line once every month at a DMV or cable service type building behind dozens of people and have a surly clerk stamp your clearance record for every gun. Or, police will come knocking at your house.

No neighbor can declare you "a quiet guy who keeps to himself" (after you turned him in for a huge 3 am cocaine party the next two blocks could hear) or say "He's my ex and he is obviously totally insane. I hate him."

So no purchase at gun shows, no transfer to relatives, dwindling number of licensed dealers, and fewer retail places. And then there were none.

With respect, I simply do not believe Aldi has lower prices than Walmart. No way they have the same buying power. I’ll have to pick a dozen items and compare.
